Former Mr. Olympia Phil Heath is a modern bodybuilding icon. After winning the title seven times consecutively from 2011 to 2017, Heath lost to Shawn Rhoden in 2018. However, instead of retiring, the former champion returned to the drawing board and returned to the Olympia stage in 2020. During a recent interview, the seven-time Mr. Olympia winner revealed he met Dwayne Johnson before making his return. However, Heath didn’t expect Johnson to give a valuable piece of advice during their short meeting.
On January 4, the bodybuilding icon appeared on the Lewis Howes YouTube channel. Phil sat down with Howes for an exclusive interview. During their conversation, Heath told the YouTuber he met Johnson in Georgia while preparing for the 2020 Mr. Olympia. He said the WWE superstar gave him “some really good advice.”
A meaningful conversation between two icons
Phil Heath revealed he met Dwayne Johnson when the WWE superstar was filming the reality TV show, The Titan Games. The seven-time Mr. Olympia met The Rock inside his trailer. It might have to be, ‘this is your last one,’” Johnson told the bodybuilding champion.

“You might have to put yourself in that mindset,” Johnson told Heath. The bodybuilding icon’s return to the Mr. Olympia stage
In 2020, Phil Heath returned to the Mr. Olympia stage, intending to reclaim his title. In 2018, fans and experts criticized the seven-time Mr. Olympia for the lack of conditioning in his midsection and the lack of overall muscle definition. He also had difficulty holding each pose during the final judging.
However, in 2020, Heath addressed nearly all his shortcomings. The former champion improved his physique, but Heath didn’t win. In 2020, Mamdouh ‘Big Ramy’ Elssbiay captured the Mr. Olympia title. Phil Heath finished in third place behind Brandon Curry.
