Thousands of people were horrified when a video of the giant animal was shared on Facebook.
A terrifying ‘alien-like’ creature flexing its hairy tentacles has been caught on video.
The monster insect is seen wiggling its huge orange body up and down while moving its four thick tentacles around in Indonesia.
Thousands of people were horrified after Gandis shared the footage on Facebook this week.
One person joked: “I’d burn the house down if I saw this” while another added: “Give him the keys and tell him the house is yours.”
Another wrote: “What in the heckle and jeckle is that?”

And another wrote: “What is it… I saw a similar in the east of Bolivia, it looks like an alien.”
The creature is a Creatonotos gangis moth, which can be found in Indonesia, India, Sri Lanka, Japan, Thailand, New Guinea, and Queensland.
Despite its eerie appearance the animal is not harmful to humans – but it is known for wreaking havoc on pomegranate trees, according to a report from lazerhorse.org

Its strange wriggling tentacles, known as coremata, are used to attract mates by emitting the pheromone hydroxydanaidal via scent organs.
It grows tentacles and pheremones by consuming bitter tasting plants high in pyrrolizidine alkaloids.
The moths also have a wingspan of about 4cm.
