One Piece 1072 could mean big things for the Egghead Island arc.
One Piece released its first chapter of 2023 with One Piece 1071 and it was quite an interesting one with a lot of surprising turns that fans didn’t expect. While a lot of the chapter focused on Egghead Island, as many fans had predicted, as it went on, fans got to see quite a lot of interesting turn of events.
Quite possibly the biggest talking point from One Piece 1071 was the planned attack of the Navy on the Blackbeard Pirates, who are currently residing on the Beehive Island in the New World. This attack is led by none other than the hero of the Navy himself, Monkey D. Garp. At the same time, Kuma is headed towards an unknown location, however, the Red Line stands in his path. Now, all eyes are on One Piece 1072 which will start building up towards the end of the Egghead Island arc.
One Piece 1072: The Mystery Person On Egghead
One of the biggest talking points from One Piece 1071 came when Dr. Vegapunk called an unknown person residing on Egghead. This call was specifically made to help him and the Straw Hat Pirates escape from the island. As fans know already, the crew is currently surrounded from all sides. The Navy, led by Kizaru, is headed directly towards them and from the other side, the CP0 is currently chasing the crew with the Seraphims at their disposal. Strong as the Straw Hat Pirates are, fighting a war on two fronts is certainly not an easy thing to do for them. As such, the crew will need any help that they can get at the moment.
And, thanks to Vegapunk’s call, the crew could receive help in the form of a strong ally. Interestingly, the fans have no idea about who this ally could be and One Piece 1072 might just reveal their identity. Given that Oda goes on to barely reveal the silhouette of the Den Den Mushi of this person, it could be someone who the fans are already well familiar with. The mysterious person could easily be a former ally of the crew, or even a legendary figure of the old who also happens to be an acquaintance of Dr. Vegapunk. Many characters come to mind from the likes of former members of the Whitebeard pirates, to the members of the Rocks Pirates as well.
One Piece 1072: The Arrival Of The Navy
As mentioned previously, the Navy, led by Admiral Kizaru is currently headed towards Egghead Island in an attempt to stop Luffy, kill Dr. Vegapunk, and destroy all his clones. While fans did not get to see any of that in the previous chapter, One Piece 1072 could very well see them return after a short break. Kizaru should now be pretty close to Egghead Island, given that he has been sailing for quite a while. If that is the case, One Piece 1072 could reveal him and his fleet closing in on the island and cutting off the escape route for the Straw Hat Pirates, forcing them to engage the Navy in all-out combat.
This will be the perfect opportunity for the likes of Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji to show off their abilities against the very strongest of the One Piece world. At the same time, the Cipher Pol is also on the island, which will make the matchups even more interesting. Previously, fans saw Kaku engage Zoro in combat and this fight could very well be extended a bit in the next chapter. That said, the major threat that the crew currently faces comes from Kizaru himself, along with the Seraphims that are currently under the control of the CP0. In the previous chapter, fans also got to see many members of the G14 Navy base prepared to head to Egghead. This also means that the likes of Smoker and Tashigi could also be heading to Egghead Island and One Piece 1072 could open up the opportunity for their return to the series after a very long period of absence. All things considered, One Piece 1072 could prove to be a great chapter for the members of the Navy.
One Piece 1072: Garp Makes His Move
Undoubtedly the most interesting part of One Piece 1071 came towards the end when Vice Admiral Garp of the Navy announced that he’s going to launch an all-out offensive against Yonko Blackbeard for kidnapping Koby, his apprentice. He called Helmeppo aboard his ship, and will most likely also take Vice Admiral Doll with him. One Piece 1072 could give fans a glim pse of this group as they prepare to travel to Beehive Island. Garp is mostly unaware of the events that unfolded on Amazon Lily and Helmeppo could fill him in on what exactly happened. Given that Koby is a hero, he could very well have sacrificed himself in order to save the lives of other Navy members.
One Piece 1072 could also see focus being thrown on Trafalgar law versus Blackbeard once again. The last time fans saw them fight, Law seem to have the upper hand, however, fans are very well aware of how most of Blackbeard’s fights go. Despite him taking quite a lot of damage, he ends up winning anyway and, given that Law isn’t on the same level as the Yonko at the moment, he is bound to lose unless he gets more help. Curiously, he could get this in the form of the Navy Hero, Garp, who is headed to where Blackbeard is. This also opens up the room for a conversation between Garp and Aokiji. The latter is known to owe Garp and their relationship could also be explored more. All things point to One Piece 1072 being an incredible chapter and the fans can’t wait to see what Oda does next in the final saga of the story.
