Eiichiro Oda recently teased that one of the Straw Hat Pirates might die. but which one is most likely to fall in battle?
The straw hat pirates have visited numerous islands, each with its own set of mysteries, action, and adventure. After defeating Kaido in Wano, Luffy and his crew arrive at Egghead Island, where they meet the World Government’s renowned scientist, Dr Vegapunk. Trouble follows the straw hat pirates everywhere, and Egghead Island is about to become one of many islands where they leave their mark.
With the arrival of the CPO and Kizaru’s impending arrival, Egghead Island will undoubtedly become a battleground. And, based on recent events in manga chapter 1067, Kuma could be the latest addition to the chaos about to be unleashed on Egghead. Eiichiro Oda teases fans with a bloody affair following the war at Wano, and someone may be added to the ‘kill list’ in One Piece. And, based on the creator’s suspicious tease, who might die among the straw hat crew member?
Who Could Be Added To Oda’s Death Note Among The Straw Hat Pirates?
Oda refrains from killing off characters in One Piece, a tradition that fans are already accustomed to. But the death of fire fist Ace at Marineford changed everything because it was an unavoidable necessity in order to pave the way for the main character’s development. However, recent developments in One Piece indicate that the series may be gradually treading a path of solemnity, and the creator will most likely diverge to a darker nuance. The straw hats are known to subdue all their opponents on every island; even the most powerful man, Kaido, was defeated by Monkey D. Luffy. With Oda’s tease, the real adventure begins after the tumultuous events at Wano, with many mysteries about to be unraveled and possibly the death of a certain character. One Piece fans may have to relive a similar scene to Portgas D. Ace’s death.
The Survivor of Ohara, Nico Robin
The straw hat pirates have proven to be formidable opponents, and with the turn of events at Egghead Island, killing one of the straw hats will mark their crew as unbeatable. The race for the poneglyph has begun in the New World, as has the battle to find someone who can read the ancient language. So far in the series, Gol D. Roger, Kozuki Oden, and Nico Robin have been able to decipher the poneglyph as Big Mom’s daughter, Pudding, waits for her third eye to awaken. For the straw hat pirates, Robin is their greatest bet on reaching the one piece to make Luffy the king of the pirates.
Robin’s importance in the series is far too great because, as the sole survivor of the Ohara destruction, Blackbeard and other notorious pirates will come after her in full force. Robin’s death will make the straw hats’ journey more difficult because her role as poneglyph translator is critical. This will undoubtedly put the straw hats in a difficult position; the journey to the one piece treasure is already difficult, so the death of a crew member who can point them in the right direction—Raftel—will be a huge blow. Oda might have set up Pudding as the character who saves the day if Robin dies because Oda isn’t one for introducing characters without making them meaningful to the story’s build-up.
Usopp, The Warrior Of The Sea
Death has been a theme One Piece fans haven’t encountered many times, in contrast to anime series such as Naruto, Attack On Titan, and Full Metal Alchemist, among others. Fans of One Piece will have various theories about which straw hats will perish. While high-ranking members such as Zoro, Sanji, Jimbei, and Franky may fall on this scale, Oda is known for his ability to surprise fans with events such as Portgas D. Ace’s death. Zoro wishes to be the greatest swordsman in the world; Sanji, the cook, wishes to find the All Blue; and Franky wishes to be a great builder and care for the Thousand Sunny until the end. Jimbei has made significant sacrifices for Luffy at Impel Down and wishes to remain with him until the end. However, one of the characters’ dreams on the ship may be overlooked.
If Usopp dies, it may not be as devastating as if Sanji or Zoro died, but the circumstances of his death can significantly impact viewers. Usopp, the scaredy cat, aspires to be the brave warrior of the sea, and while he can be a coward in battle, Usopp always comes up with surprises to help the crew. Usopp is the most unlikely character to sacrifice himself to save anyone, so pulling such a stunt will allow him to fulfill his lifelong dream of becoming a sea warrior. And what better way to become a sea warrior than to protect one’s nakama?
