Tottenham have been rocked by the news that Hugo Lloris could be out for eight weeks – though some fans have joked they could now qualify for the Champions League.
The 36-year-old sustained knee ligament damage in Spurs’ 1-0 win over Manchester City on Sunday, which will keep him sidelined for a number of weeks.

Lloris required treatment after colliding with Rodri late on, with the goalkeeper now ruled out for the foreseeable future ahead of the Round of 16 tie against AC Milan.
The Frenchman, who will not undergo surgery, will now be replaced by Fraser Forster, with some supporters desperate for him to have started sooner.
No goalkeeper in the Premier League has made more errors leading to an opposition goal than Lloris’ four this season.
Lloris made costly mistakes in both matches against rivals Arsenal – first allowing Gabriel Jesus to score at the Emirates – before parrying Bukayo Saka’s cross into his own net in the reverse fixture.
Newcastle striker Callum Wilson capitalised on Lloris’ mad dash out of goal in October, with the 2018 World Cup winner spilling Douglas Luiz’s strike to allow Ollie Watkins to score in the defeat to Aston Villa.
And a number of Spurs fans have light-heartedly stated that their fortunes have improved as a result of Lloris’ injury.

Another quipped: “Advantage Spurs.”
A third added: “Doesn’t feel like a big blow or loss this time.”
This fan then commented: “Bad news for Milan.”

One then posted: “The good news is that Lloris is out but the bad news is that we have Forster in goal.”
This supporter simply stated: “Might be what we need.”
Meanwhile, one said: “Good, he always has a clanger in him.”
Tottenham are believed to be looking to replace Lloris in the summer after making a new goalkeeper a top priority.
Everton’s Jordan Pickford, Brentford’s David Raya and Brighton’s Robert Sanchez have all been touted as possible options.
