Lionel Messi was full of delight, but also some shock, when his Paris Saint-Germain teammate Sergio Ramos scored on Wednesday night.
The Ligue 1 giants were trailing 1-0 away at Marseille in the Coupe de France with Alexis Sanchez scoring a penalty.
However, Ramos rose highest from a Neymar corner and head in his side’s equaliser in first half stoppage time.
The former Real Madrid star wheeled away to celebrate, and an alternate angle on social media has revealed Messi’s reaction.
The Argentine could be seen throwing his arms in the air as the ball hit the back of the net, looking somewhat shocked that the defender had got onto the scoresheet.
During the celebrations, it appeared as though Ramos wanted to emulate his former Real Madrid co-star Cristiano Ronaldo.
He wagged his finger to the crowd and proceeded to jump into the air in a move similarly seen by the Portuguese legend.
Instead of completing the ‘Siiiuuu’ celebration though, Ramos pointed to the back of his shirt before being embraced by his teammates.
Despite Ramos’ goal, PSG were unable to go on and seal the win on the road in the Coupe de France.
A powerful strike from Marseille’s Ruslan Malinovskyi just before the hour mark was enough to knock out the 14-time winners in a 2-1 win.
PSG will be able to get their revenge in the coming weeks though when the two sides meet in Ligue 1 on February 26.
Messi and co. are the current leaders in the French top flight and on course for their 11th title.
