Cristiano Ronaldo has broken his silence after scoring his 500th league goal on Thursday after hitting four past Al Wehda for Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League.
Ronaldo, who joined Al Nassr in December after his contract with Manchester United was terminated, struggled to get off the mark in his new home at first.
The 38-year-old did score a brace for Riyadh XI in a 5-4 friendly loss to PSG but was yet to get off the mark for Al Nassr. He finally broke his duck in the team’s previous league game against Al Fateh. The match ended in a 2-2 draw with Ronaldo scoring the equalizer that salvaged the draw for his team in the end.
Ronaldo took to Instagram and said he felt great after his exploits on Thursday and reaching the new landmark.
“Great feeling to have scored 4 goals and reaching my 500th league goal in a very solid win by the team!” said Ronaldo.
Al Nassr continue their run at the top of the table with the win on Thursday.
Morgan, who dropped a bombshell interview with Ronaldo last year, took to Twitter to congratulate the “astounding” United and Real Madrid legend.
“BREAKING: Cristiano Ronaldo scores all 4 goals in Al-Nassr’s 4-0 win at Al-Wehda, passing 500 League goals in his career,” he wrote.
“He’s now scored 61 hat-tricks, 30 before he was 30, 31 since he turned 30. He’s now 38. Astounding. Congrats.”
In another tweet on Ronaldo’s four-goal haul at the King Abdulaziz Stadium, Morgan added: “Not bad for a 38yr-old… [sic]”
