Injured Liverpool star Luis Diaz has confirmed that he’ll be ‘back soon’ having not played since October.
Diaz has had to watch on from the side lines as Liverpool have lurched from bad to terrible this season. But now, as per a video message from Sky Sports Premier League on Twitter, the Colombian says he’s nearing a return.
“Liverpool fans! I hope to be back soon,” says Diaz, with a thumbs up to the camera.
On top of Diogo Jota, Roberto Firmino, Virgil van Dijk and Arthur Melo returning yesterday, we finally have plenty of positive news!

Diaz closing in on return
It has been a tough old time for Liverpool fans since Diaz got injured at the Emirates on October 9th. How we’ve missed Lucho.
Of course, it hasn’t just been Diaz we’ve been pining to see back on the pitch. Jota and Firmino in particular have been sorely missed as the goals have dried up.
But as Jurgen Klopp’s side turned in lifeless performance after lifeless performance, you couldn’t help but long for some of Diaz’s energy in particular.
Just before his injury, the 26-year-old also seemed to be striking up a good partnership with Darwin Nunez. Between them the two South Americans pretty much have it all in an attacking sense.

Both quick and direct, Diaz brings the silk and Nunez the steel. What Darwin lacks in composure, Lucho makes up for in his excellent finishing ability.
In times to come, we expect the two will cause endless headaches for whoever they face. Right now though, that does feel quite a way away.
It has been deeply frustrating not to be able to see Diaz kick on from his lightning start at Liverpool. Having achieved so much so quickly, it now feels a bit like he’s playing catch up. Still, all that frustration will be forgotten the first time we see him racing down the left wing once again. Hopefully there are no further set backs.
With Jota and Firmino already back, and Gakpo settling in further, Liverpool are starting to look like they have goals in them again. On paper anyway. Get back soon Lucho, we need you!
