Joao Felix has claimed to Diario AS that there is no official buy clause in his loan deal to Chelsea.
The Portugal international is preparing to return to the pitch for the second time as a Blue in the London derby tomorrow against West Ham.
His debut against Fulham brought great promise that he would be seriously important to the club for however long he will be here.
His dynamic attacking abilities were on full display before he was unceremoniously sent off for a rash challenge early in the second half.
This sent Chelsea down the path of another defeat, piling more misery on Graham Potter. However, a strong January transfer window has brought a sense of belief back to Stamford Bridge.
Felix comments on Chelsea buy clause
They have added Enzo Fernandez, Mykhailo Mudryk and Benoit Badiashile to their ranks, with all three now looking important starters.
Felix will certainly be another of those, although he has confirmed that there is no guarantee that he will remain at the Premier League club beyond this season.
He said: “It is a great club, as we all know. The structures are very, very good, they have everything… has a lot of people around the team so that everything is fine and that makes the difference. It is very well structured.
“I feel very good at Chelsea, I like the club. There’s no option to buy in the contract, so if they want to keep me they’ll have to find an agreement with Atlético.”
With Christopher Nkunku set to join the Blues at the end of the season, it may be somewhat of a headache for the manager to find a system which would suit these two as well as Kai Havertz, who is still very much looking to secure his place at Stamford Bridge.
