His introduction to the Nation of Domination turned out to be one of the most important decisions of his character and opened doors for his future rise. During the interview, The Godfather revealed how Vince McMahon reacted to The Rock‘s introduction to the Nation.
What did Vince McMahon say about Dwayne Johnson’s introduction to the Nation of Domination
Vince McMahon can often be credited as the brain behind turning WWE into an International giant. Thus, he had the best plan laid out in front of him. Since Johnson’s initial character failed and was a disaster with the fans, Vince McMahon had a carefully crafted plan for Johnson.
He wanted Johnson to be a heel character at first, and then turn baby face and win over the fans. The Godfather revealed what McMahon said to them back during Johnson’s early days. He revealed, “Well listen, I brought him in and the gimmick we put on, and they kind of sh*t on it.’ And he goes, ‘This time we gonna put him in the Nation.”
McMahon further revealed his plan for The Brahma Bull’s character. He said, “Once I get people to hate this kid, when I turn him, he will be the biggest thing wrestling ever saw.” And, it turned out exactly true. Dwayne Johnson from there went onto become one of the biggest entities in professional wrestling.
Soon, he would go onto achieve great lengths in the industry, and then move over to a career in Hollywood. He is currently one of the biggest stars in Hollywood. Dwayne Johnson was recently heavily rumored to face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39, but unfortunately, it did not happen so.
WWE fans will now need to wait more for Dwayne Johnson’s return to the company.
