Photographs show Man Utd stars Harry Maguire enjoying their time at school
NEVER-before-seen photographs of Harry Maguire have revealed their early passion for sport on the eve of their quarter-final clash with Sweden.
Pictures show Maguire, 25, competing on the athletics track and being presented with an award at St Mary’s Catholic School in Chesterfield, Derbyshire.
Maguire’s sporting rival at school, Sean McAneny, 25, said he remembers being shocked at how “amazing” the World Cup star was at football.
Sean, who is pictured pipping Harry to the post in an 800m race which they both competed in, said he was the most gifted footballer he had ever played with.

He said if England win the world cup, he would name his first born after the England star.
Sean said: “I was his sporting rival but we really enjoyed competing against each other.
“In the picture I just beat him, but we were always so competitive at school to try and be the best.
“We used to do athletics together and we both played for the school team. The first time I ever saw him play football I just remember thinking ‘wow’.

“He was amazing. The ball would just stick to his feet, nobody could get anywhere near him. He was an exceptional footballer.”
“I was centre back and he played in midfield when he was younger, he used to just boss the rest of the opposition.”He must have taken a few tips from me.”
Sean, from Chesterfield, said Harry has always been a modest and humble man who “kept himself to himself”.
He said everyone in the city is cheering him on during each performance and he is hoping for a goal to celebrate during England’s run.
Sean added: “He makes everyone so proud. I am jealous in a way but he is my claim to fame, he is just a genuinely nice guy.
“He lets his football do the talking which I have always respected.
“I tell everyone who I watch the matches with: ‘I went to school with him and was in the same team’. Everybody is cheering him on.”
