The Marvel Cinematic Universe keeps sending us heroes and villains of cosmic proportions, be it the enigmatic Captain Marvel or the supervillain who almost took her down, Thanos. But what makes Marvel different is its stories about the little guy – the growth of a friendly neighborhood crime-fighter, a blind attorney with super senses, or the thief who is only trying to be a good dad when he finds himself a super-suit that changes his life.
Paul Rudd first assumed the role of Scott Lang way back in 2015 in Ant-Man. And the character of Ant-Man has fit him like a glove to a hand. He was signed on for the movie for $300,000, with there being some doubts as to whether the character would be received well enough or not.
Received it was, and how!

Scott Lang and his merry escapades with Hank Pym, his daughter Hope, and Pym particles led to a second film for Ant-Man in Ant-Man and The Wasp (2018), and major appearances in Captain America: Civil War (2016) and Avengers: Endgame (2019). Civil War pitted his character against some of the biggest names in the MCU, while Endgame went on to become the highest-grossing movie of all time. Understandably, Rudd received large slices of the pie from all four movies.

Between June 2018 and June 2019, Rudd earned around $41 million for his appearances as the tiny (or huge, at times) superhero. This was an insane rake-in of money, not just for Rudd, but for any actor. The year saw him gross as one of the highest-paid actors and what he earned in the period was almost double his estimated net worth.
Rudd’s earnings made the evergreen actor one of the biggest names on the MCU circuit. Ageless and always inspired to be humourous, Rudd revealed recently that his son didn’t know he was an MCU superstar until very recently and had no idea about the scale of earnings made by his father.

Paul Rudd’s portrayal of Ant-Man and the way he uses his charisma to depict the lovable Lang on-screen earned the character a third movie in the form of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023), which was released today, 17th February 2023. Rudd faces off against Jonathan Majors‘ Kang the Conqueror in what is an exciting release for MCU’s Phase 5. The movie apparently pushed Rudd to his limits, and the actor opened up about it recently. Nonetheless, Rudd’s earnings are only set to go off the charts with the release of the new movie, set in a post-Thanos world that is still new to the idea of all things quantum.

When asked about the possibility of an Ant-Man 4, Rudd sheepishly walled up and averted answering, using his own disarming diplomacy.
“I have…I have no comment on any of that stuff,” Rudd said in a recent interview. “Any of that stuff, not that I’d know anything anyway…I never do.”
Marvel has been known to be tight-lipped about future releases, but it can be said with certain alacrity that Rudd’s superhero avatar will make even more moolah given there are further releases.
