A picture of a cat has gone viral on Instagram thanks to its unique resemblance to Manchester City and England midfielder Phil Foden, complete with crop hair cut
England player Phil Foden is instantly recognisable off the pitch, thanks to his sharp, crop hair cut and striking cheek bones.
But it’s not just his hair that has got people talking, as the Manchester City midfielder has a surprising doppelganger in the form of a cat.
Football fans who were shown a picture all agreed on one thing – the unnamed feline bears an uncanny resemblance to the Three Lions player.
The white cat with tabby patches has captured hearts on Instagram thanks to its unique fur pattern, which users have compared to Foden’s trim. The feline has now earned the nickname Phil Fur-den, and people have even joked that he plays for ‘Meownchester’ City.
The picture of the cat was posted by Glenn Kitson, a film director and self professed “serious artist” who regularly posts pictures of public figures with hilarious captions.

The furry creature is looking straight at the camera with a stern look. Glenn commented: ” Phil Foden is an English professional footballer who plays as midfielder for Premier League club Manchester City and the England national team. He is considered one of the best young players in the world.”
Many agreed that this was the “best one yet” as the comparison has left people in stitches.
Foden fans couldn’t believe their eyes, with one person commenting: “My seven-year-old got this in one. Just said which football player does this look like. Straight off!”.
Another said: “Literally his spit!”.
A third added: “Has to be up there with the best!”
“Oh this is a good one. I love Phil Foden. And I love this cat that looks like Phil Foden,” said another.
One person added: “Can’t unsee it!”
Some people thought it was so alike, that they accused the creator of using the FaceSwap app to create the image.
This isn’t the first time a cat has gone viral for looking like a celebrity.
Earlier in the year, an adorable black and white kitten went viral for her unique fur pattern which made her look like she had a moustache – just like the late music icon Freddie Mercury.
