Here are some characters who need to return to the story before One Piece finally wraps up.
The One Piece world is home to countless characters that Oda has written over the course of the last two decades. Character writing is one of the strongest traits of the author and, as such, One Piece has introduced several amazing characters, big or small, that have graced the journey of Monkey D. Luffy over the years.
While some of these characters are recurring, there are others who have barely made an appearance, despite having left quite an impression upon introduction. These are characters that fans wish to make a return before the series finally wraps up, especially now that the story is in its final saga.
8. Wyper
Wyper is a character fans were introduced to during the Skypiea arc of the story. One of the leaders of the Shandians, Wyper was a character who left quite an impression on the fans. In fact, he is still widely considered to be one of the best side characters in the story, if not the very best.
Wyper has not made an appearance in the story after the Skypiea arc, aside from a cover story following the two-year timeskip, which showed his ascension to the rank of God’s Guards on the island. Being such a beloved character, fans would absolutely love for him to make an appearance, especially in the Final War.
7. Yorki
Yorki was the captain of the Rumbar pirates and the former captain to Dead Bones Brook. He was a great musician, just like everyone else on the crew, and aimed to conquer the Grand Line, just like many other pirates back in the day. However, Yorki was struck with an incurable disease.
As such, he said his goodbyes to the crew and was left to sail through the Calm Belt. Yorki is presumably dead, however, it wouldn’t be a surprise if he actually survived. In that case, fans would absolutely want for him to return towards the end and even meet Laboon once again.
6. Gin
Gin is a character that fans fell in love with very early on in the series. He showed up in the Baratie arc as the right-hand man to Don Krieg, the Captain of the Krieg Armada. Gin had quite an interesting relationship with Sanji and, even though he stood against him, he had utmost respect for him.
Before he left Baratie, he hoped to cross paths with Sanji and Luffy once again on the Grand Line. Unfortunately, that has not happened to date. Oda rarely forgets his old characters and it is highly likely that he will make a return in the story at one point or another.
5. Enel
Enel is one of the most intriguing antagonists in One Piece. He showed up as the main villain in the Skypiea arc and stood in the path of Luffy, the Captain of the Straw Hat Pirates. While he fell at Luffy’s hands, Enel then sailed to the moon, which he called Fairy Vearth. Since then, he received his very own cover story where he defeated the Space Pirates and rescued the Automata.
He has not been seen in the series since, however, towards the end of the story, he could very well make a return. Chances for this happening are especially high given that Enel could know a lot about the history of the One Piece world.
4. Bon Clay
Bon Clay is quite possibly one of the most beloved side characters in One Piece. Although originally he was a villain during the Alabasta arc, he ended up helping Luffy and his crew towards the end.
In Impel Down, he once again helps Luffy by sacrificing himself. Currently, he is the new Queen of the Newkama Land in Impel Down. He is most certainly going to make an appearance before the story ends.
3. Zeff
Zeff, famously known as Red Leg Zeff in the past, is a character that is extremely close to Sanji. He was central to the plot of the Baratie arc and, since then, he has made an appearance or two in the story.
Zeff is a character who would surely be monitoring the journey of both Sanji and Luffy with great intrigue. Having been a great pirate himself before, it would be good to see him return and play some sort of role in the future.
2. Saul
Saul is one of the giants of Elbaf who was once a part of the Navy. During the incident that saw Ohara being turned to ash by the World Government, Saul was, presumably, frozen to death. However, in the recent events of Egghead Island, it was brought to light that Saul had actually ended up surviving.
Thanks to the Giant Pirates, Saul hauled all the books from the Tree of Knowledge back to Elbaf and, since then, has lived there. When the Straw Hat Pirates visit this island, Saul is sure to make an appearance.
1. Gaban
Gaban was one of the most important members of the Roger Pirates. Just as Rayleigh was Roger’s right arm, Gaban was believed to be the left. He was one of the strongest members of the crew and was seen fighting with two axes.
Given that Rayleigh has already played such an important role in the story, it would be great to see Gaban play some sort of role as well. Roger Pirates are a crew filled with a lot of charisma and mystery and for them to make a return in the story with certainly be amazing for the fans.
