ERLING HAALAND shelled out HALF A MILLION pounds on Rolex watches for his Borussia Dortmund team-mates and staff as a farewell gift.
The 21-year-old Norwegian is departing for Manchester City at the end of the season, it was confirmed earlier this month.
Haaland said his goodbyes to the Dortmund fans on Saturday
The entire Dortmund squad received a plush Rolex watch from Haaland
The OMEGA watch was given to at least 20 members of the backroom staff
Haaland said his goodbyes to the Dortmund fans at the weekend as he scored in a 2-1 victory over Hertha Berlin.
And according to Bild he has now also handed the entire squad and backroom staff watches as he prepares to jet off to England.
He has reportedly purchased 33 Rolex watches for all the players – worth around £12,730 each.
And then he also bought at least another 20 OMEGA watches for the backroom staff – a piece worth around £4,128 each.
So, in total, the Dortmund striker has spent £500,000 on presents for his players and coaches.
Haaland is set to instantly become the joint-highest paid player at Manchester City when he arrives there in the summer.
He is expected to rake in £375,000-a-week in wages, matching midfield maestro Kevin de Bruyne.
Man City were able to clinch Haaland’s signature after paying just £51million to Dortmund – £12m less than his release clause.
He has been an extraordinary success at the Bundesliga giants, scoring 86 goals in 89 appearances.
But he official posted a farewell message to the fans on the weekend after playing his final match for the club.
In the video, Haaland said: “Dear BVB fans, I had unforgettable years at Dortmund.
“Thank you for the great support, you will always have a place in my heart. All the best to you all.”
