Dillon Brooks is a solid two-way player that currently suits up for the Memphis Grizzlies. Recently we have seen him have some very controversial comments, particularly toward Draymond Green.
Recently, Kyrie Irving reacted to Dillon Brooks’ beef with Draymond Green, noting that this sort of rivalry “makes it great for our league” but added that there must be a level of maturity when it comes to those interactions. This came after the point guard was informed that Dillon Brooks sent him a big message hoping he’d play against the Grizzlies.
“There’s been a lot going on with him, seeing him in the middle of all the Draymond stuff”, said Irving. “I mean it makes it great for our league, but at the same time, there’s a maturity that we’ve got to have. Nothing should go over the line of personal stuff.”
This is a measured response from Kyrie Irving. He clearly appreciates the passion and fire that Dillon Brooks brings to the game, but is not a fan of insults going over the line. Hopefully, we do end up seeing a good upcoming matchup between the two stars.
Draymond Green Said That Dillon Brooks Is The Reason The Grizzlies Aren’t Ready To Win A Championship
We have seen some heavy-handed comments from Draymond Green toward Dillon Brooks recently. In fact, the forward even claimed that Dillon Brooks is the reason the Memphis Grizzlies aren’t ready to win a championship.
“If you ever wonder why the Memphis Grizzlies is not ready to compete for a championship, look no further than this idiot right here. They’re actually depending on this idiot to help them win a championship,” Green said.
There is no doubt that this is some insane criticism from Draymond Green, but to be fair to him, he has plenty of championship experience. Green knows what a championship-level team is supposed to look like, and it’s clear that he doesn’t believe that Brooks can be part of one.
With that being said, Dillon Brooks will have the opportunity to prove Draymond Green wrong in the playoffs this season. If the Memphis Grizzlies have Ja Morant available, they can compete with any Western Conference powerhouse. Dillon Brooks will continue to bring his energy and play perimeter defense on stars for them to get far.
The Memphis Grizzlies have dealt with a number of injuries as well as Ja Morant’s gun incident, but they have remained a resilient team, recently beating the Golden State Warriors. They have a solid amount of talented players, and we’ll see how far they get in the future.
