Erling Haaland could well become a contender to be named football’s GOAT, as he netted a stunning FIVE goals in Manchester City’s 7-0 trouncing of RB Leipzig.
The Norwegian striker joined Manchester City last summer and had already bagged 34 goals in 35 games before the German side came to town in the Champions League.

He wasn’t done there as he netted twice more inside the opening 15 minutes of the second half. Haaland was then substituted in the 62nd minute, much to the relief of everyone associated with Leipzig.
Ilkay Gundogan and Kevin De Bruyne scored City’s other goals as Pep Guardiola’s men ran out 7-0 winners on the night and 8-1 on aggregate.
Haaland’s efforts mean that the striker now has ten goals against Leipzig, more than any other player in world football has managed.

If he’s to get into the top three he’ll need to surpass Robert Lewandowski’s total of 91, although the Barcelona star will be hoping to add to that before he hangs up his boots.
Should Haaland want to become the Champions League’s all-time top scorer, he’ll need to reach 140 goals, the record set by Cristiano Ronaldo following prolific form with Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus.
