Kim Kardashian was at Arsenal’s Europa League tie with Sporting in midweek, and she also took in the Lionel Messi show at Paris Saint-Germain.
The American socialite, whose kids are big football fans, was a surprise guest at Emirates Stadium when the Gunners took in a continental clash with Portuguese opponents. The Kardashians have now crossed the English Channel and made their way to the French capital, where they got the chance to see Messi and Kylian Mbappe in action against Rennes.
PSG are used to having superstar performers on the pitch at Parc des Princes, while the galaxy of stars at Christophe Galtier’s disposal ensures that they are always going to be a big draw for any celebrity guests. Having a Kardashian in attendance did not bring them good luck against Rennes, however, as Messi & Co slumped to a disappointing 2-0 defeat.
The Kim cυɾse clearly travelled with her over to Paris from London, as Arsenal also lost in her presence in London on Thursday. Sporting beat the Gunners on penalties in the Europa League round of 16 tie after the two teams were left locked at 3-3 on aggregate following normal and extra time in the second leg encounter at Emirates Stadium.
Where will Kardashian end up next on her tour of European football? The international break is about to be reached, so domestic action is set to shut down until April.
Lionel Messi headed straight down the tunnel following Paris Saint-Germain’s defeat against Rennes, rather than stay out and applaud the home support.
The Argentine superstar endured an afternoon to forget against Rennes, with the reigning Ligue 1 champions slipping to a shock 2-0 defeat at Parc des Princes. Home supporters vented their anger throughout the second half of another disappointing display, with Messi deciding that he had seen and heard enough at the final whistle as he headed straight to the dressing room.
Questions continue to be asked of how much longer Messi will be sticking around in Paris, with the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner set to see his contract expire in the summer. He has been linked with a return to Barcelona or a move to MLS.
While Messi was quick to get himself off the field against Rennes, Kylian Mbappe – who filled the captain’s armband for PSG – did make a point of clapping the home support before making his own way from the pitch.
