With his inspiring story that won close to 1 million votes in the Egyptian Elections; Mohamed Salah

We will tell you how this beautiful person, whose nearly 1 million names were voted in the ballot box, despite not being a candidate in the elections that Sisi won by far, overcame a difficult life and realized his dreams…

Mohamed Salah Hamid Gali was born in 1992 in Basyun, Egypt…

Salah had to make a choice in his career as a child… Although he tried to take school and football at the same time for a while, this would not be possible in the future.

At the Salah club, while he was playing ball in training, he was also doing additional work. The biggest meaning of this additional job was the incident with a thief;

While Salah was running a ball in Egypt, a thief broke into their house… The family was preparing to file a complaint about the thief who was caught in a short time. However, with Salah’s suggestion, the complaint was abandoned. Later, Salah even helped the thief financially and helped him find a job… At the end of the story, Salah stated that he wanted “everyone to have a better chance”.

Salah’s professional football career started in Egypt’s El Mokawloon Sporting Club team. He made his debut on 3 May 2010 against Mansoura, which ended in a 1-1 draw, and scored his first goal on 25 December 2010 in an away match against Al Ahly SC.

Salah was now an integral part of the team. He had already managed to attract the attention of many Egyptian football fans with the football he played. Such an eager football player, who was only 18 years old, inevitably caused his hopes to flourish.

The shadow falling on football with the Port Said Stadium Disaster

The Port Said Stadium Disaster is one of the most painful events in the history of football, not only Egypt, but the world. On February 1, 2012, after the football match played between Al-Masry Club and Al-Ahly SC teams in Port Said, Egypt, thousands of fans entered the field and 74 people lost their lives. In the continuation of these events, the Egyptian Premier League was also stopped, and many football players, especially Salah, remained in the shadow of fear, far from their dreams.

A belief that does not surrender to fear; Salah had transferred himself to Basel in the U23 match

Salah, who saw the Europa League Semi-Finals with Basel, managed to become the most valuable player of the year in Switzerland. His performance against Chelsea in the Europa League semi-finals was a sign that he would wear the blue jersey next year.

Salah transferred to Chelsea after two successful seasons in Basel. Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho at the time said, “He is only 21 years old and is learning very fast. His speed is his greatest weapon. At least he won’t be able to score against us anymore.” he said

Salah was a part of the system where Chelsea took young players early and rented them to many big clubs and was loaned to Fiorentina… Salah was then loaned to Rome, had a successful season and signed to the Italian club with his testimonial.

His rising graphic in Rome had finally caught the attention of Liverpool’s coach Jurgen Klopp before the season started. The arrival of Salah after Coutinho, who went to Barcelona with a record transfer fee, left question marks in the minds of many people.

But Salah managed to become the best player of the year with his determination, hard work and talent. Salah, who scored 43 goals and made 13 assists in 47 games this season, is currently the closest name to the European Footballer of the Year award.

Salah’s fascinating statistics;

Salah also carries his national team… The star player, who took Egypt to the World Cup with the penalty he used in the last match, scored 32 goals in 56 international matches.

Salah was also a favorite of the people in the last Egyptian general elections… Although he was not a candidate, his name was written in about 1 million of the votes.
