Cristiano Ronaldo splashed £630,000 on a watch in the colours of Saudi Arabia, his new home following his switch to Al Nassr, with the timepiece featuring stones 200 times rarer than emeralds
Cristiano Ronaldo has paid homage to Saudi Arabia with a new £630,000 watch in the country’s colours which features stones 200 times rarer than emeralds.
Ronaldo, 37, made Saudi Arabia his new home when he moved to Al Nassr in December, and he’ll receive a whopping £173million for every year he stays in the Middle East. And the forward has decided to use some of his cash to splurge on a stunning green watch, a colour that appears on the Saudi flag, to honour the country that took him in when nobody else seemed interested in signing him following his calamitous exit from Manchester United.
Ronaldo’s new custom piece, called the ‘Caviar Flyin Tourbillon’, was personally crafted for the Portugal icon by luxury watch dealer Jacob & Co, the company he’s a brand ambassador for. The breathtaking model features an 18 carat white gold 47mm x 15.85mm Caviar case design, complete with 388 green Tsavorite gemstones.

The gemstones are thought to be 200 times rarer than emeralds, although emeralds are dearer in value. The timepiece is also powered by the JCAA43 movement and is comprised of 216 components, 27 jewels, and a 42-hour power reserve.
Ronaldo debuted the exclusive watch while jetting on a plane to Riyadh also wearing an expensive Christian Dior t-shirt. And when he arrives back in the Saudi city, he’ll be able to relax in his new home which has 17 rooms and costs £250,000 per month to rent.
It’s not the first time Ronaldo has brought a watch with a deeper meaning. He splashed £124,000 on another piece that boasts sapphire crystals and gold print when he left United.
And the diamond-encrusted hand clock, also made by Jacob, appeared to be a dig at United as it featured an image of Ronaldo’s infamous 9ft headed goal for Real Madrid against the Red Devils. Ronaldo’s career in Saudi Arabia has already started with a bang – he scored twice on his debut in an exhibition game against Paris Saint-Germain, but he was dismissed as “finished” by brutal fans after his performance against Ettifaq FC.
