Actress Amber Heard, who is currently in a defamation trial brought against her by her estranged husband Johnny Depp, is moving to the Californian desert after the court proceedings are complete
Amber Heard is reportedly set to take a break in the desert following the current trial with her ex-husband Johnny Depp, who is attempting to sue her for £38 million in a defamation case.
Johnny and Amber have been part of proceedings for a number of weeks and the closing arguments on the case have recently been presented from both sides.
Amber wrote an op-ed in The Washington Post which did not directly name Johnny, but he has claimed that it kept him from landing acting roles due to the implications of the article.
She is also attempting to countersue him for £78 million.
The jury on the case are expected to announce their verdict in the coming week.
The case has been widely broadcasted and millions of people have tuned in to see the former spouses go head to head, with a team of lawyers and witnesses by their sides.
The 36-year-old actress is planning on moving to the California town of Joshua Tree, known for its hippy population and sprawling wildlife, after the proceedings have finished.
She will bring her one-year-old daughter Oonagh along with her to the $1 million property, which features three bedrooms.
A source close to the star spoke to The Mirror about Amber’s decision to relocate and gave some insight into her life.
She will live in her new home with her daughter
They explained: “Amber loves spending time in the desert. It’s the one place she can get away from everything. She’s really connected with the artistic community there and feels she experiences a true getaway.”
The source continued on and said that Joshua Tree is “full of cool hipsters” which is “just her scene,” so she can go to her “sanctuary” and “get away from it all”.
They also said: “In recent months, it’s given her time to reflect and escape the pressures of the case”.
Joshua Tree is said to be the actress’ “sanctuary”
On the last day of the trial, the Aquaman actress said: “Perhaps it’s easy to forget, but I am a human being.”
Both Johnny and Amber are accusing each other of abuse and Amber has previously said that she “knows how many people will come out and say whatever for him”.
She said that is “his power” and is the reason why “she wrote the op-ed”.
