While the Premier League was about to roll the ball back, a “ƄoмƄ” exploded. Michael Boye Marquaye, a former Ghanaian player, has loudly admitted he is the father of Marcus Rashford.

“Rashford is my son and he knows that even though we haven’t seen each other in years. Before, Rashford used to be very angry with me for abandoning him, but the truth is not like that,” Marquaye shared on the radio channel “Starr FM” (Ghana).

Former Ghanaian player claims to be Rashford's father

Everyone knows that the Manchester United striker is the son of Joseph Rashford (Jamaican) and Melanie Rashford (Saint Kitts and Nevis). Marcus Rashford was born in England and has no relation to Ghanaian origin.

So the revelation of Michael Boye Marquaye shocked the football village of the foggy country. Currently, Rashford and his family have not had any reaction to the shocking news from the former Ghanaian player.

Michael Boye Marquaye used to play football, but little is known about him. Through the Google search engine, there are only a few old photos of Marquaye playing football. It is easy to recognize that Marquaye has a face similar to Rashford. However, there is no definitive proof that they are father and son.

Marquaye uses a Facebook page named after him. Notably on his personal page, the former Ghanaian player often shares articles about Rashford, accompanied by proud confidants about the person he recognizes as his son.

“No one should take the father-son relationship lightly. My love for you will never fade. My aim is to protect Rashford and pray for him. I would get angry if anyone came to me to suggest money. I don’t need money, I need love, justice and truth,” Marquaye wrote on Facebook.

Marquaye rejected the idea that he made up everything to cling to a famous player. “I know that now many people will try to find news about me, approach me. But I’m not doing this for the sake of making money or becoming famous. I just want to tell the world that Rashford is of Ghanaian blood,” the 65-year-old former player replied on “Starr FM”.
