The Los Angeles Lakers have officially clinched the 7th seed in the Western Conference, after a season where many expected them to falter and potentially be in the lottery. They started this season 2-10, and it is clear that they have managed to turn things around.
After the Lakers beat the Utah Jazz to clinch the 7th seed, LeBron James sent a touching message to all of his teammates. He claimed that he loves this squad, adding that he “fell in love with them even more” while he was out.
“I love my teammates. I fell in love with them even more when I was not playing… put in a lot of hours trying to fast-track me getting back on the floor… It’s great to be around a good group. Good energy, and we feed off each other. Hopefully, we keep this going”.
There is no doubt that the Los Angeles Lakers have a solid squad after their trade deadline moves. They can definitely be a serious threat in the Western Conference, and hopefully, we see them get far.
LeBron James has averaged 28.9 PPG, 8.3 RPG, and 6.8 APG this season for the Los Angeles Lakers. He has been a top-10 player despite him entering the twilight of his career, and perhaps we’ll see him win another championship this season.
The Los Angeles Lakers Could Be A Dangerous Squad
There is no questioning the talent level of this Los Angeles Lakers squad, and many believe that they can be a tough matchup for a top-tier seed. In fact, Isiah Thomas previously stated that nobody wants to face the Lakers.
“The Lakers at 8, a month ago, we had the Lakers dead. Straight dead, go to the trade deadline, everybody hated them, worst season ever, they’re never gonna make the playoffs, and now they’re 8th. Not only are they 8th, but they’re playing well. I know someone said that nobody fears LeBron, let me tell you something. Them 7 teams that are 1 through 7, there’s not one team saying I want to play LeBron and the Lakers. in the first round. So there is some fear there. That’s the team I think nobody really wants to face.”
Of course, the Los Angeles Lakers do face an uphill battle to win the championship. However, with LeBron James and Anthony Davis on the roster, they have a chance to be competitive against even the best teams in the league.
