So here is the continuation and tour of my Dollhouse Remodel. This is a Target Exclusive Lori Doll “Loft to Love” Dollhouse I have completely renovated.I made a lot of the decorative furnishings for this house.
This is the bed I created from wood dowels and plastic connectors from a children’s toy straw set I purchased at Krogers.
I firs painted this bed with black chalk painted. I them mixed a silver paint with a little black and thin coated the whole frame. When that was dry I used Folkart Gek stain to age all the joints where the connectors are. When that was dry I used his new product from Folkart that gives a rust effect. It’s two different colors that you blend heavy. I used this around the joints.
I think the bed came out much better than I expected.
I decided I wanted to go with an eclectic, bohemian them for the bedding. I started with Aztec, south western throw pillow designs. I used transfer paper to create the pillows. You can print your design on this paper and iron the design onto your fabric. It’s wonderful and can be used for so many applications.
So get ready for my tour.Trending Videos×
Here is the bed with two of the framed art posters hung.
Here’s a different view. I used rabbit fur skin for an area rug.
Here’s a snapshot of the living area. These are the two chairs I painted with chalk paint.
Here’s the full on view. There are still little touches I need to complete but for the most part this is the look I was going for.
I am going to add a second house to the right side of this house to complete a full kitchen and upper bathroom. Above with be a terrace with fireplace and pergola. As I complete the next phase I will post the progress.
I hope this motivates all you Miniature and dollhouse enthusiasts to think outside of the box.
Thanks for following my posts. Keep on Mini on!
