The Only Murders in the Building star bundled up in a pair of baggy white sweats, a black t-shirt and long cream colored sweater from Naked Cashmere, which she paired with fluffy sandals as she strolled through the southern California beach community.

The Hotel Transylvania actress, who has been open about her struggles with depression, traveled to Washington, DC last week where she spoke to the Mental Health Youth Action Forum at the White House May 25.
‘Bringing attention to mental health through media or just by talking about your journeys can help,’ she advised.

‘Just to throw in a little bit of my journey,’ she shared, ‘I felt like once I found out what was going on mentally, I found that there was more freedom for me to be okay with what I had, because I was learning about it.’
The Same Old Love artist later sat down with President Joe Biden, First Lady Dr. Jill Biden and US Surgeon General Vivek Murthy in a video she shared on social media.
The President thanked her for her efforts ‘to lift the burden off people who have problem with their mental health, who feel lost, who are not sure what to do and sometimes they’re ashamed to acknowledge.’

Murthy told the versatile artist others are learning from her example.
‘When they here your story and the stories of others, they realize, hey, I’m not alone. And that’s really the goal here – we want people to not suffering silence and alone, we want them to be able to get help when they need it hope to lift the stigma of mental health.’
Dr. Biden joined in with the admonition, ‘It doesn’t matter what age you are, mental health is really a crucial issue,’ and said that the attention placed on mental health during the pandemic could allow more people to feel comfortable seeking medical attention.

Selena agreed, saying, ‘I really do believe that we can make change, and it starts at the places where people spend the most time. I mean, our youth spends so much time with their friend communities, mainly at school.’ President Biden explained that a goal of his administration was to make mental health care more accessible, via the hiring of more school counselors and psychologists.
