LeBron James tried his best to lead the Los Angeles Lakers to a Game 2 win with a 28-point performance, but it wasn’t enough.
It was a tough Game 2 loss for the Lakers that couldn’t remove the damage from a dreadful first half in the second half. LeBron reacted to the loss and how the Grizzlies played.
“At the end of the day, we all understand what a series is all about. It’s not the first to one win or two, it’s the first to four. Every game is its own entity and you have to prepare for that challenge. We were prepared tonight we just didn’t execute as well as we did in Game 1. They made adjustments, and we made adjustments, but you tip your hat to them. They played a hell of a game tonight.”

The Lakers were held back by a slow offensive night from Anthony Davis and most of the rotational players around them. D’Angelo Russell scored just 5 points while Austin Reaves, Dennis Schroder, and Troy Brown Jr. all had rough nights. Rui Hachimura was a bright spot, scoring 20 points yet again.
Can The Lakers Find Their Spark In Game 3?
A problem with a lot of veteran teams is that they can be surprised by younger teams starting fast in the first half. That’s exactly what happened tonight as the Lakers fell to an 11-point deficit at the end of the first quarter, which became a 15-point deficit by halftime.
The Lakers outscored the Grizzlies over the final 2 quarters and looked great, with LeBron James leading the charge. It was too late and not enough, as the Lakers slumped to the loss. If the Lakers don’t set the tone early in Game 3 on their home floor, the Grizzlies may just steal another win.
