74-year-old Mangayamma just gave birth to twins. The oldest woman in recorded history is an Indian woman from the state of Uttar Pradesh.
Mangayamma from India gave birth to twins at the age of 74.
In an endeavor to determine how and why she was able to conceive, Mangayamma and her husband, who had been married to farmer Yaramati Sitarama Rajarao since 1962, had previously visited a number of doctors and temples. She was allegedly harassed or that this was a result of her “sins,” according to several locals.
The urge to become a mother was unaffected by this. Since experiencing menopausal symptoms 35 years ago, this year has continued. Then, she discovered that her 55-year-old neighbor had gotten pregnant via IVF. Mangayamma and her husband took the decision to try their luck.
They decided to try their luck via IVF (In Vitro Fertilization, a sophisticated set of techniques intended to aid in conception and help with fertility or prevent genetic issues).
The doctors decided that the elderly woman might undergo treatment after holding several discussions and doing several tests. She was free of diabetes, a ƅlооԀ clotting issue, and any other illnesses that would have complicated labor. The mother was only advised to seek psychological support throughout her pregnancy.
Mangayamma gave birth to two girls during the first cycle of in vitro fertilization, and they had grown in her belly throughout the course of the subsequent six months. The doctors were in charge of monitoring her health throughout her pregnancy and ensuring that she remained healthy up to the time her twins were born earlier this month. Mother and child are both in good health.
Following the birth of their kid following IVF treatment, Mangayamma Yaramati and her 82-year-old husband, Sitarama Rajarao, referred to themselves as the “luckiest people.”
Before to Mangayamma, a fellow Idia named Daljider Kar held the record for being the oldest woman to give birth at age 74. The 70-year-old woman conceived a child via in vitro fertilization in 2016.
