Haaland is adapted from classic paintings

Painter Rory O’Keefe turns Erling Haaland into the main character when redrawing classic paintings of artists such as Leonardo Da Vinci, Van Gogh or Johannes Vermeer.

“Erling Haaland is my muse,” says O’Keefe, a painter living in Wales. “I’ve drawn him more than 100 times in different ways.”
Haaland is adapted from the painting “Girl with a Pearl Earring” by Johannes Vermeer.
Haaland became a character based on a self-portrait of the artist Van Gogh.
The Man City striker also became a character in the “Hope” campaign poster of former US President, Barack Obama.
O’Keefe turns Haaland into a God holding a baby carrying a Golden Ball.
When asked why he chose Haaland, O’Keefe replied, “Why can’t you draw anything? Why did Monet paint water lilies? Why did Da Vinci paint the Mona Lisa? Why did the cavemen paint? animals with dung in a cave?”
O’Keefe claims to not sell Haaland paintings. “My reason will be a mystery,” the artist said.

Haaland has scored 48 goals in 41 games in the 2022-2023 season. The Norwegian and Man City striker is present in the Champions League semi-finals, the FA Cup semi-finals and is second in the Premier League.
