Richarlison thought he’d rescued a point for Spurs at Anfield, scoring a 93rd minute equaliser in-front of the Tottenham fans. Having come from 3-0 down to the level the game in the dying moments, there were understandably joyous celebrations.

Amidst the chaos, the Brazilian left his shirt in Alisson Becker’s penalty area. As spotted by Anfield Agenda on Twitter, Lucas Moura went to retrieve his countryman’s top as the celebrations continued.

Trent reached the shirt first though, flicking it up nonchalantly with his right boot into Moura’s grasp. Another assist for our right-back!

Luckily, Richarlison got his shirt back on in-time to see Diogo Jota slot home at the Kop end just moments later. Football, eh.

Richarlison sees Anfield dream disappear

Who wrote Sunday’s script at Anfield? Give that person a pay-rise immediately! Of course, Reds fans would have preferred the game to tootle along at 3-0 up, but this is Liverpool 2022/23, things are never straight forward.

In the end, the 4-3 win will go down as one of the most memorable of the campaign. You have to hand it to Richarlison, he ended up playing a big part in that.

Had it been any other Spurs player to get the last minute equaliser, maybe it wouldn’t have been quite so. But the fervour in which the former Everton man celebrated only to have his moment ripped away was truly glorious.

You can’t really blame Richarlison for that. It was his first Premier League goal of the season and against a club he holds in utter disdain.

But as a former Blue, he should perhaps have known better. This is Anfield, you don’t get to shush the crowd and pack in half a dozen celebrations and not have it come back to bite you.

Thankfully in the end, it did. There’s something in the way Trent lofts his shirt into Moura’s arms that the right-back knew it was coming, too. Have your moment, but ours is coming in a big way. See you next year Richy, all the best.
