The mansion could be Cristiano Ronaldo’s permanent residence after retirement
Amidst rumours of Cristiano Ronaldo returning to Sporting Clube de Portugal, the football star has bought a luxurious mansion in his homeland, which is said to be Portugal’s most expensive home. After the upcoming World Cup in Qatar, Ronaldo, as reported by several publications, may leave Manchester United and return to Sporting CP, the club where he began his career. This could possibly be one of the reasons why he bought a new home in Portugal.
The world’s third-highest-paid athlete of 2022 per Forbes, Ronaldo earned $60 million (Rs 495 crore approx) on the field and $55 million (Rs 453 crore approx) off it last year. The highest goalscorer in football history, Ronaldo has earned over $1 billion (Rs 8,241 crore approx) during his illustrious career, per Insider. The ace footballer owns a number of properties around the world including a $9.7 million mansion (Rs 79 crore approx) in Madeira, a $1.8 million (Rs 14 crore approx) villa in Marbella on the Costa del Sol, and an $18.5 million (Rs 152 crore approx) apartment in Trump Tower, New York City, per Insider.

His latest purchase, which is Portugal’s most expensive home, is located in the Cascais region of Quinta da Marinha, one of the most expensive residential areas in the European country. The three-floor mansion, which is 40 km from Lisbon, has an indoor area of 2,720 square meters and an outdoor area of 544 square meters with lots of open space and a large swimming pool, per Sportskeeda. The south-facing location offers mesmerising views of the Atlantic Ocean and comes with an elevator and solar panels. The garage can accommodate up to 20 cars.
As per MARCA, the mansion is valued at $11 million (Rs 90 crore approx), but with all the refurbishing, the value will go up to a whopping $21 million (Rs 173 crore approx). As per Sportskeeda, the villa is being re-designed by Ronaldo’s wife Georgina Rodriguez and friend Paulo Brito. Brito has decorated all of Ronaldo’s other homes. An exclusive Louis Vuitton mural to Italian marbles, the details of the villa are ultra-luxurious.
A winner of five Ballon d’Or awards and four European Golden Shoes, Ronaldo’s net worth is close to $500 million (Rs 4,124 crore approx), per Mirror.uk. With 493 million followers, the 37-year-old is the most followed person on Instagram, where one endorsement post fetches him Rs 19 crore, per Forbes India.
