She reached a new milestone in her impressive career on Monday after winning the Emmy Award for Outstanding Competition Series for her show called, Watch Out For The Big Grrrls.
So it was a little wonder Lizzo was in a celebratory mood as she delightedly snapped selfies with Zendaya while clutching onto her coveted award.
The Good As Hell hitmaker, 34, couldn’t contain her joy over her win and hardly let go of her Emmy all night as she flaunted her prize backstage.

Lizzo flashed a warm smile as she posed with her Emmy alongside a glam Zendaya – who herself made history as the youngest two-time Emmy winner – and actor Colman Domingo.
She also took time to pose with a host of other stars including Seth Rogan, John Oliver and Trevor Noah.
Lizzo looked in her element as she strutted about backstage and showed off her trophy to everyone around her.

The Truth Hurts singer was earlier brought to tears as she took in the monumental moment of winning her first Emmy, giving a shout out to the women involved in her competition show, expressing ‘…they are Emmy award winning superstars.’
The performer was both the host an executive producer on the Amazon Prime series. Days before the ceremony, the show won two Creative Emmy awards for Outstanding Directing along with Outstanding Picture Editing.
The Rumors hitmaker was beyond honored to receive an Emmy and gave a speech to recognize all who were involved in her series.

‘I mean my big girls come to the stage right now. I want to say thank you to the Emmys and the Emmy voters,’ she began.
‘First I’m very emotional, and the trophy is nice but my emotion is for these people who are on the stage with me, the stories that they shared they’re not that unique. They just don’t get the platform telling stories.’
The eight-episode show followed a group of plus-size, talented dancers who were competing to land a role as a backup dancer for Lizzo’s future concerts and world tour.

As she continued her heartfelt acceptance speech, Lizzo added, ‘Let’s just tell more stories. When I was a little girl, all I wanted to see was me in the media. Someone fat like me, black like me, beautiful like me.’
‘If I could go back and tell little Lizzo something, I would be like, you’re going to see that person but b***h, it’s going to have to be you.’
She then took time to recognize the women who competed on her show.

At the end, and still in tears, Lizzo expressed her gratefulness and love to the audience and viewers. ‘I love you so much oh, my god god bless y’all. This is for the big girls.’
Before her big win of the night, Lizzo had already spent time on the stage to announce the winner for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, which was awarded to Brett Goldstein for Ted Lasso.
The talented star was seen being helped onto the stage in her eye-catching, red tulle gown from Giambattista Vallie.

Lizzo appears to be having an outstanding year so far in terms of career and recognition, and recently was awarded the Video for Good award at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards last month in August.
