The line will debut during a show in Cannes on May 23.

After co-hosting this year’s Met Gala, Dua Lipa’s fashion activity has grown stronger and stronger. In her latest style pursuit, the Grammy Award-winning artist will be partnering with Donatella Versace to co-design an instant womenswear collection for Versace, titled “La Vacanza” “.

The collaborative line will meet the world at Cannes, in a fashion show scheduled for May 23. Though not on the official Cannes Film Festival calendar, which runs from May 23. May 16 to 27, the show will take place around the same time, at an undisclosed location.

Lipa, who has a long relationship with the designer, said: “I’m incredibly excited to be co-designing the ‘La Vacanza’ women’s collection for Versace with Donatella.” Lipa first met Versace in London in 2017, then she starred in the Italian fashion house’s Fall/Winter 2021 campaign. That same year, she opened and closed Versace’s Spring 2022 show during Milan Fashion Week, with two different looks. Most recently, she sat front row at Versace’s Fall/Winter 2023 show, which took place at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood in March.

“Donatella and I have formed such a strong bond over the years and I am so grateful for the support I have received from her and the whole team since the beginning of my career,” she added. “It was a dream for her to give me the honor of co-designing this collection and letting all my summer inspirations flow. I’m incredibly proud of this collection and can’t wait to unveil it at Cannes.”

“I have always been inspired by the collaborative design process,” said Donatella, who has previously invited designers including Christopher Kane and Kim Jones for joint collections. “Working with Dua on this collection has been exciting and I love the dynamism between us. Dua is strong, fearless and free and her creative vision is exceptional. Summer is a magical time. We will capture this feeling and the color of that time of year with a truly special and intimate fashion show in Cannes.”
