The Most Expensive Ferraris in the World

The most expensive Ferrari model is currently up to 70 million USD. Most of the high priced Ferraris are antique cars.

Ferrari is quite a popular brand in the supercar segment. Models from the “prancing horse” brand are always sought after by many car players, even special versions are quickly out of stock before opening for sale.

1963 Ferrari 250 GT0 – 70 million USD

Ferrari 250 GTO is considered an icon in the collection of supercars. The Italian automaker produced only 36 units of the 250 GTB, from 1962 to 1964. This is not only one of the rarest Ferraris today, but also one of the most successful racing cars of the time, helping to increase add value of the Italian supercar model.

In particular, a 250 GTO produced in 1963 with chassis number 4153 GT currently holds the record as the most expensive car in the world ever sold at an auction with a value of about  70 million USD.

The reason the car is so expensive is because this is the car that won the Tour de France in 1964. Many people predict that if the current owner wants to auction, the value of this 250 GTO can be can reach  100 million USD.

The car is equipped with a naturally aspirated 3.0L V12 engine, producing up to 302 horsepower and 334 Nm of torque. Combined with a 5-speed manual transmission, 250 GTO is capable of accelerating from 0-100 km / h in 5.4 seconds before reaching a maximum speed of 280 km / h.

1962 Ferrari 250 GTO – 48.4 million USD

If the 250 GTO that won the Tour de France in 1964 had a hefty price tag, the original 1962 Ferrari 250 GTOs were similarly priced.

Specifically, in an auction for RM Sotheby’s held in Monterey, California, a 1962 250 GTO was successfully auctioned for up to  48.4 million USD.

The famous “coke bottle” shape was developed by two famous designers Giotto Bizzarrini and Sergio Scaglietti, the successor to the 250 GT Berlinetta SWB, which was Ferrari’s most successful racing car at the time.

Ferrari 335 Sport Scaglietti – 35.7 million USD

Developed from the accomplished 315 S, the Ferrari 335 Sport Scaglietti opens another chapter in Ferrari’s glorious racing history. The 355 Sports Scaglietti follows the preset V12 formula that has dominated the racing world for decades.

Designed by Carrozzeria Scaglietti, this car is equipped with a naturally aspirated 4.0L V12 engine developed from the previous 315 S model, producing up to 390 horsepower and 334 Nm of torque. twisted. Combined with a 4-speed manual transmission, 335 Sport Scaglietti can reach a maximum speed of up to 306 km / h.

Although it was not Ferrari’s most successful race car at the time, it still holds a special place in the history of the company and its fans.

With four produced between 1957 and 1958, one of which was converted from a 315 S, the Ferrari 355 Sport Scaglietti all had a pretty high resale price when they showed up at auction. Most recently, a 355 Sport Scaglietti was successfully auctioned for up to  35.7 million USD.

Ferrari 290 MM Spider Scaglietti – 28 million USD

To participate in the Mille Miglia race in 1956, the Ferrari 290 MM Spider Scaglietti immediately won under the “riding” of driver Eugenio Castellotti.

The list of legendary drivers who have “held the reins” of the 290 MM is quite rich, typically Stirling Moss, Peter Collins and Juan Manuel. The car is equipped with a naturally aspirated 3.5L V12 engine developed from the “elder” 860 Monza, this mid-engined convertible has a capacity of up to 320 horsepower. Combined with a 4-speed manual transmission, the car reaches a maximum speed of 274 km / h.

With four built in 1956, it is one of the rarest and one of the most successful race cars from the Italian supercar brand. The above adds to the value of the 290 MMs.

Specifically, the car that won the 1956 Mille Miglia race driven by Juan Manuel Fangio fetched  28 million USD in an auction. Before that, another was sold for  22 million USD  at an auction organized by RM Sotheby’s in Los Angeles, California.

Ferrari 275 GTB/C Speciale – 27 million USD
