Chapter 1082 of One Piece brings back one of its beloved characters from the dead, and he comes bearing some very important news.
The following contains spoilers for One Piece Chapter 1082, “Let’s Go and Take It!!,” by Eiichiro Oda, Stephen Paul and Vanessa Satone, available in English from Viz Media.
Chapter 1081 of One Piece goes hard with Garp going all out as he attempts to rescue his protégé. However, before that, the chapter reveals how the former admiral Aokiji became part of the Blackbeard Pirates. It turns out that the latter initially attacked the former admiral in a certain bar. Kuzan easily dealt with the Blackbeard Pirates and froze them, prompting Blackbeard to confront Kuzan himself. However, rather than fighting, the two sides somehow managed to sit down and have a chat. Blackbeard even got the Ice-Ice Fruit user to join his crew, telling him that all that was needed for him to be his Nakama was to have an alignment of interest.
Going back to the present, Garp tells Kuzan to unfreeze Hibari, a member of SWORD. Kuzan, of course, won’t oblige. He instead engages Garp, to which the vice admiral replies in kind. Garp gains the upper hand and uses his Blue Hole move on Kuzan. Meanwhile, Blackbeard and Law’s fight is also just concluding. Blackbeard and his crew have managed to knock down all of Law’s members, but before he can deal the finishing blow or capture his opponent, Bepo takes out a secret medicine that Chopper gave him. He pops it in and transforms into his Sulong form despite the absence of a full moon. He then grabs his captain and escapes the scene. While they do manage to flee, the Heart Pirates are still obliterated.
Chapter 1082 opens heavily, releasing the news of Vice Admiral T-Bone’s death. He was the vice admiral that the Straw Hat Pirates faced as they chased Robin and the CP9. Back in the Navy headquarters, Sengoku and Tsuru talk about this saddening event. They mull over how chaotic the world has been, especially with the civilians who they’ve sworn to protect now stabbing them in the back. Even so, Tsuru explains the civilians’ side. She tells Sengoku how pirates are not the only ones pressed for money, especially those living in extreme poverty.
They then realize how vile the Cross Guild’s actions truly are. If they don’t neutralize them anytime soon, the number of casualties will only increase and their morale will take a heavy blow. Just then, Sengoku sees Hina. The former fleet admiral inquires about Garp’s location since he wants him to try some new rice cracker flavors. Hina then informs them about Garp’s rash decisions. The two immediately realize that the reckless vice admiral went to Fullalead. Before they can do anything, Hina also tells them that Kujaku accompanied the vice admiral.
The chapter then shifts to Emptee Bluffs Island, the headquarters of Buggy’s Cross Guild. It reveals the culprit behind T-Bone’s death fetching the bounty on his head. Buggy even commends him for his bravery, praising him for killing one of the Marines’ finest vice admirals. The quaking old man, however, doesn’t seem too happy about it. He seems to only have done what he did because his family almost died from starvation. They also take him under their wing.
Just then, they are interrupted by one of Buggy’s men, who has come to tell the Emperor that Cross Guild’s vessel has finally finished its construction. Unsurprisingly, it reeks of Buggy. His men have made sure to make him its figurehead, earning Mihawk and Crocodile’s dissatisfaction. They drag him to the meeting room, where they also discuss their plans. The two former Warlords are quite satisfied with the results that the Cross Guild bore. However, Buggy gives them a piece of his mind, preaching about them aiming low. Since Shanks has already made his move, he wants to follow suit and now also wants to become the Pirate King.
The two former Warlords aren’t dull enough to fall for his words. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for their followers. Buggy has broadcasted his whole speech to the entire crew, igniting their lost passion in searching for the One Piece. After a few more flowery words, the entire Cross Guild once again burns with passion, so much so that even Crocodile and Mihawk are left helpless in front of them.
In the Kamabakka Queendom, the four vice-captains of the revolutionary army — Ushiano, Ahiru, Gambo and Jiron — discover a docking ship. They immediately proceed to bet on whom the ship’s passengers might be. Gambo bets on it being an enemy ship, while Jiron bets that it’s Sabo’s return — and Jiron is right. Sabo has returned with a ship from the Kingdom of Lulusia, the very same kingdom that was supposedly eradicated by Imu’s weapon. He’s not alone; aboard with him are some citizens of Lulusia. Just then, Koala appears and gives Sabo some well-deserved kicks. She blames him for worrying her sick, especially since he hasn’t given them any news of his well-being.
That’s when Sabo reveals how he managed to survive the Marines’ colossal attack. It turns out that when he contacted them prior, he wasn’t really in Lulusia, though he doesn’t reveal where he actually was. Then, the attention shifts to the people Sabo brings in. They are supposedly individuals who want to join the Revolutionary Army, so they’ve come to enlist in their ranks. While this is happening, Sabo goes straight to the higher-ups, immediately sitting down with Ivankov and Dragon.
Sabo greets them by saying he heard what happened to their comrade Bartholomew Kuma, to which Dragon apologizes. Ivankov then asks Sabo if they can tell the captains what they’re going to talk about. However, Sabo declines. He knows that whoever’s listening in will put themselves in danger. Finally, he tells them the topic of their discussion: he will tell them what truly happened during the recent Reverie, the gathering of One Piece‘s kings.
