Every Known Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit in One Piece – And Their Abilities

The Mythical Zoan Devil Fruits of One Piece grant their users various transformative powers, categorized into artificial, mythical, and ancient types.

In One Piece, a special type of fruit, referred to as Devil Fruit, exists. These various fruits grant their eaters a certain special ability, and they are generally categorized based on the power they bestow. The Devil Fruits are either Logia, Paramythia and Zoan. Logia Devil Fruits grant element-type powers, such as Ace’s Flame-Flame Fruit and Enel’s Rumble-Rumble Fruit. Logia users can also turn themselves into their respective elements, making them immune to physical attacks. The abilities granted by Paramythia Devil Fruits are very varied, allowing them to perform superhuman feats. Robin’s Flower-Flower Fruit and Shiryu’s Clear-Clear Fruit fall into this category.

As for Zoan Devil Fruits, the users are given the ability to transform into an animal. For instance, Lucci’s Cat-Cat Fruit, Model: Leopard allows him to transform into a leopard. However, unlike the two other types, Zoan Devil Fruits are further categorized into Artificial, Mythical and Ancient. Mythical Zoans transform their eaters into mythical creatures. Here’s every Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit introduced in the One Piece manga so far.

Marco’s Devil Fruit Turns Him Into a Phoenix

One of the earliest Mythical Zoan Devil Fruits to be introduced into the series, the Tori Tori no Mi, Model: Phoenix, consumed by former Whitebeard Pirates first mate Marco, allows its user to transform into the mythical blazing bird. Like other bird-type Zoans, the phoenix model lets its user freely soar the skies. It also grants an impeccable healing ability, allowing the wielder to ignore most physical damage. The phoenix’s Flames of Rebirth is also a unique type of flame. Unlike Ace’s Flame-Flame Fruit, the Flames of Rebirth has healing properties. Marco uses his flame to heal his allies, though at a comparably slower rate.

Sengoku Can Transform Into a Gigantic Golden Man

Sengoku’s Devil Fruit debuts at around the same time Marco’s Devil Fruit is first introduced into the series. Similar to Chopper, Sengoku has also consumed a Human-Human Fruit — it’s just that his is the Model: Buddha. He can transform into a gigantic golden human, which exponentially bolsters his physical prowess. In addition, he can produce shock waves from the palms of his hands, which are strong enough to rival Whitebeard’s Devil Fruit powers to a certain extent.

Catarina Devon Can Transform Into Others

The only female member of Blackbeard’s main crew also possesses a Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit. Catarina Devon is the eater of the Dog-Dog Fruit, Model: Nine-Tailed Fox. As its name suggests, Catarina has the power to transform into the mythical beast. Other than the boost in speed and power, Catarina has also been shown to have the ability to transform into another character. While her powers seem similar to Charlotte Brulee’s Mirror-Mirror Fruit powers, the Nine-Tailed Fox offers a better form of imitation. After all, Catarina’s transformation is not a mirror image. Catarina makes full use of her Devil Fruit powers to execute various underhanded tactics and gain the upper hand in battle.

Onimaru Has a Rather Appropriate Devil Fruit

Given that the “Wano Island” arc features the Beast Pirates, whose majority of members possess a Zoan Devil Fruit power, it is unsurprising that numerous Mythical Zoan Devil Fruits are revealed in this arc. One of them is Onimaru’s Human-Human Fruit, Model: Onyudo. Like Chopper, Onimaru is originally an animal — a fox, to be specific. Onimaru only gains a human form after consuming the Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit. However, the Devil Fruit’s mythical power is yet to be revealed in the series.

Orochi’s Devil Fruit Is Quite Predictable

The Snake-Snake Fruit, Model: Eight-Headed Serpent is consumed by one of Wano’s former shoguns, Kurozumi Orochi. This Devil Fruit allows Orochi to transform into a serpent with eight heads, giving him a boost in strength and power. Unfortunately, the boost is not enough to supplement Orochi’s lack of fighting ability. The Eight-Headed Serpent Devil Fruit, however, also possesses an arguably overpowered ability; it grants its user numerous lives, and this is the sole reason Orochi survived Kaido’s attack. It can be remembered that Kaido once beheaded the shogun, but the latter turns out to have survived the incident.

Like Her Father, Yamato Also Has a Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit

Being Kaido’s daughter, it is unsurprising that she is given a powerful Devil Fruit. Yamato possesses the power of the Dog-Dog Fruit, Model: Okuchi-no-Makami, allowing the Oden-wannabe to transform into a wolf deity. Like the other Zoans, her animal form greatly bolsters her physical ability, especially since the Okuchi-no-Makami is considered a carnivorous animal. Of course, it also bestows another ability. Yamato’s Devil Fruit grants her the power to generate ice, which she has incorporated into her techniques. She uses the ice as an attack or as an outer coating for her club and body.

Kaido Is a Literal Dragon

One of the Four Emperors of the Sea, Kaido keeps his status by continuously building an army of Zoan Devil Fruit users. Of course, he himself possesses an animal-type Devil Fruit. Kaido has eaten the Fish-Fish Fruit, Model: Azure Dragon, giving him the ability to transform into a gigantic dragon. His transformation is accompanied by the ability to produce clouds, which he uses as footholds when soaring into the sky. However, his more notable ability is the Bolo Breath. Kaido focuses his energy on his draconic mouth, then blasts it to obliterate his target. In addition, Kaido’s Devil Fruit allows him to generate and summon lightning. He usually uses it to augment his club attacks, exponentially increasing the damage it deals.

The True Powers of Luffy’s Devil Fruit Have Been Redefined

For the longest time, fans of One Piece believed that Luffy’s Devil Fruit was the Gum-Gum Fruit. However, recent developments in the manga prove otherwise. It turns out that Luffy’s Devil Fruit isn’t a Paramythia but a Mythical Zoan. He has consumed the Human-Human Fruit, Model: Nika. Like what is already known, the Devil Fruit grants its user a rubbery body. However, its true prowess is only unleashed once Awakening is achieved. At that time, the user can fully transform into the Sun God Nika and become a Warrior of Liberation. The user will gain powers to alter reality as they see fit.
