SARASOTA, Fla. (CBS12) — One special pup is hoping to find a new family.
Ruck9, a non-profit for special needs animals, recently donated a “Walkin’ Wheels” wheelchair to Tutu, a 4-month-old black mouth cur mix puppy rescued by Road Dogg Rescue in Pensacola, according to “Walkin’ Pets.”
Tutu was born with a neurological condition that left her paralyzed from the waist down. Now, with her new pink wheels, she got to take her first steps!
Tutu’s foster mom, Lauren Bartz, says, “The wheelchair has been amazing – a huge benefit. It is going to help Tutu learn to walk, and hopefully she will not need her wheelchair one day!”
Lauren also added, “I think people see disabled dogs and think that they are disposable and not worth living. They definitely deserve life, just like any other dog. Tutu would have been euthanized, but now she can go on to live a normal life.”
Now that Tutu can walk, she is looking to find a loving family to join.
