The Phoenix Suns are leaving the playoffs in the second round of the playoffs for a second consecutive year after being dominated by the Denver Nuggets.
Dwight Howard was watching Game 6 in Taiwan and sent a simple message addressed to Phoenix, saying that Taiwan is calling.
If Howard is aiming this message at a specific Suns player, we need to find out who it is. Imagining Dwight offering Chris Paul a Taouyuan Leopards jersey is a hilarious thought, but sadly it doesn’t that likely that any of the players on this Phoenix team will be able to give him companionship in Taiwan next season.
An Embarrassing Loss In The Playoffs Once Again
The Phoenix Suns issued an apology to their fans after losing in Game 7 to the Dallas Mavericks last season, what will they do now? They mortgaged their future and two fan favorites Mikal Bridges and Cameron Johnson to get Kevin Durant, who just wasn’t able to be the superstar that they traded for.
Devin Booker was looking like one of the best players in the postseason for the first two rounds but completely disappeared in this elimination game, just as he did last season against the Mavericks. The Suns go as far as Booker and Durant take them. They won two games in this series because of heroic performances by that pairing.
The offseason will be interesting for Phoenix, as their best avenue to improve this roster comes by severing ties with Deandre Ayton and Chris Paul to spread the money they are paid around a supporting cast that can actually help them. Ultimately, Booker and KD disappeared in the elimination game and even depth couldn’t have helped them here.
