The Golden State Warriors endured a tumultuous season that had issues even before it started. After winning the 2022 NBA championship, they were ready to defend their throne, but the Los Angeles Lakers had different plans.
Back to training camp, Draymond Green viciously knocked Jordan Poole out, which cause Green to be removed from the team for a while. He came back to the roster, but the relationship between him and Poole was never the same.
After the season ended for the Dubs, new details emerged about this altercation, and Poole recently explained all the effects that punch had on him and the rest of the team.

“I don’t speak on it much,” Poole told ESPN. “But I will say that … you’ve got to have a different level of maturity.
“We had a season to play. You’re going to have to play with these people in the locker room, and that’s why I said maturity is a big thing. What I know for a fact is there aren’t many people who would be able to think logically and understand the magnitude of the situation, you know?”
Before this incident, everything appeared to be good for the Warriors, but things drastically changed after it. Green and Poole couldn’t see eye to eye, the locker room was split, which many think was the main reason why the Dubs struggled to win on the road.
During the playoffs, Poole ignored Green as he tried to give some encouraging words. It’s pretty clear that something was off with this Warriors, and it all starts with that infamous punch.
Jordan Poole Had A Terrible Series vs. Lakers
Poole things didn’t find his rhythm against the Los Angeles Lakers, posting terrible performances against the Purple and Gold. The best way to sum up his series is the stat that shows he had more fouls than field goals made in the last five games of this series.
Now, his future might be out of the Warriors, as many people have urged the team to trade him. Some trades send him to the Boston Celtics, but it remains to be seen what the Warriors want to do with him.
