Having been in the news for his impeccable portrayal of the friendly neighbourhood Spiderman in the latest instalment of the Marvel franchise, Tom Holland has become quite the household name. Arguably the best Spiderman ever, Stan Lee even tweeted that Tom is exactly what he had envisioned Spiderman would look like when he first wrote the movie.
Having made millions by playing an enigmatic superhero in the Marvel franchise, the British actor has handsomely invested in realty and automobiles. In this blog, we will take a look at Tom Holland’s house, luxurious lifestyle, net worth and what lies ahead for Spidey!
Tom Holland’s Rise to Fame
Tom Holland was born in Kingston, UK, on 1st June, 1996. Raised into a family where artistic freedom is duly encouraged, his father Dominic Holland, a comedian, and mother Nikola Frost, a professional photographer, have always supported his dreams.
One could say that Tom has been preparing his entire life for the iconic role, as Tom has often said that he used to pretend to be spiderman ever since he was just 5 years old. However, his professional career began long before he wore the red and blue suit on screen.
While working for Billy Elliot The Musical for more than 2 years, Tom had an inkling that the performing arts industry still has quite a lot in store for him. Tom continued to pick up acting gigs but his life changed forever in 2016 when he debuted as everyone’s favourite superhero in Captain America: Civil War. Even though he barely had 20 minutes worth of screentime, Marvel fans and moviegoers couldn’t get enough of his portrayal of the nerdy teen turned superhero.
It was in 2017 that Tom cemented his place in super stardom with the release of Spider-Man: Homecoming. As we mentioned earlier, he loved Spiderman ever since he was a kid, and often pretended to be him. He even posted a picture on Instagram in 2015 of his first ever Spidey costume, which he reportedly always wore to bed.
When reportedly asked sometime in 2012 if he’d ever want to portray a superhero on screen, Tom replied that he would relish the opportunity to play someone like Spiderman. It would almost seem like magic how this comment somehow manifested itself into reality very soon for the actor.
Where Does Tom Holland Live?
To be completely honest, Tom hasn’t pocketed lavish investments like other celebrities. However, he has added a few expensive items to his portfolio. For instance, he acquired a flat in 2017 in London, that is just 5 minutes away from his childhood home.
In an interview with Ellen Degeneres, Tom stated that his mother was actually the one who found the place for him. This came at a time when he was considering purchasing property in Los Angeles, after having spent more than 2 years looking for a place to call home in London.
Even though the actual value of the property has not been disclosed, purchasing this 2-bedroom house must have been rather easy for the multi-millionaire. Also, just because he was suddenly a home-owner, doesn’t mean he knew exactly what to do with it! Tom has admitted in the past that filling up his new place with furniture was a stressful task. He had no idea how many items he would need to acquire.
However, one thing that Tom was clear in his interior decoration plan was a dedicated place for his several Spiderman POP figurines. During a Facebook live interview with People Magazine, Tom said that he has at least 3 figurines in his bathroom and that his house has somewhat become a shrine for the Marvel character.
When Tom isn’t out and about swinging from buildings, he relaxes in his London home with his gorgeous Bull Terrier named Tessa. Even when he is away, Tom catches Tessa over Zoom. And if Tessa isn’t interested, Tom spends time with his two younger brothers who now live with their superhero brother.
Tom Holland’s Net Worth
Tom has often said publicly that he would love to become the next James Bond and has even reportedly asked Sony Studios to make it happen. Even if that does not go his way, he is still pretty settled for life owing to Marvel role.
According to multiple sources, Tom Holland is worth almost $18 Million. He reportedly earned a whopping $500,000 for his two year gig on Billy Elliot the Musical. He reportedly raked in $250,000 for his 30-minute debut in Captain America Civil War.
The earnings from his solo Spiderman movies are not clear, but some sources state that he was paid at least $1.5 million for Spiderman Homecoming. Judging by the success of the movie, it is only safe to assume that he was paid much more than that for the second instalment; Spider Man -Far From Home. Further, adding the TV shows and movies that he has worked in between, is how he made $18 million in the last decade.
Before we move on, it should be known that most of these financial numbers are just reports and speculations, so they should be taken with a grain of salt. Tom is not the kind of Hollywood celebrity to brag about his salary or lavish lifestyle on social media.
Shifting the Gears of Luxury
A classy flat in London is not complete without an extravagant car collection. Tom even tweeted in 2018 that he was officially buying a motorbike. While he never posted any pictures of the bike, we are sure that it might have cost him thousands of dollars.
He probably spent substantially more on the Audi that he posts on Instagram often. Judging by the pictures, Audi seems to be his go to option, even when he is working in LA, or back home in London. Considering that he was in an Audi commercial in 2016, he might have been possibly gifted a luxury car by the German car giants.
A Hero in Real Life
Apart from portraying a hero on screen, Tom isn’t anything less than a hero in real life. In 2017, Tom and his two younger brothers with the help of his parents inaugurated a charity called the The Brothers Trust. The trust organises a number of events each year with the goal of donating the money raised, to different charities.
The Brothers Trust also regularly donates funds to the charities that can properly demonstrate how they will effectively use the funds to help those who actually need it, and not on just administration.
The first ever event organised by the trust was a private screening of Spider Man Homecoming with Tom, for 120 lucky winners. In their second event, the brothers raised almost $ 55,000 to raise awareness about the disease EB. They further donated over $ 40,000 for purchasing school buses in Africa to help transport children to and from school.
In 2018, Tom Holland also surprised kids in a hospital in LA by visiting them dressed as Spiderman, and donated over $ 1 million worth of toys. Tom spent time talking to all the kids, and gave them all their own Spiderman POP figurine.
With a zeal for philanthropy coupled with incredible talent and mass appeal, Tom Holland is here to set benchmarks for generations to come.
