Famed actress Jada Pinkett Smith is ready to get even more personal with fans.
According to reports, a recent press release confirmed the award-winning entertainer has a memoir in the works, expected to arrive fall of next year. The 51-year-old movie star is not shy when it comes to sharing details about her life. Jada Pinkett Smith has been the center of many controversial conversations since launching her talk show web series Red Table Talk back in 2018. Now, it seems the TV star is ready to take things further, addressing it all in a memoir from her own eyes.
The book is described as an “honest, no holds barred” story. Pinkett Smith will reportedly speak about tough topics, such as being raised in Baltimore with two drug-addicted parents, as well as her – at times – rocky marriage to fellow actor Will Smith.
In an announcement revealing the book, the publishing company wrote:
“JADA PINKETT SMITH CHRONICLES LESSONS LEARNED IN THE COURSE OF A DIFFICULT BUT RIVETING JOURNEY — A ROLLERCOASTER RIDE FROM THE DEPTHS OF SUICIDAL DEPRESSION TO THE HEIGHTS OF PERSONAL REDISCOVERY AND THE CELEBRATION OF AUTHENTIC FEMININE POWER.”
Since becoming an adult, the award-winning actress has made amends with her mother Adrienne Banfield-Norris, who’s turned her life around since her days of addiction. Norris joins Pinkett Smith as a co-host of RTT, along with Jada and Will’s daughter Willow Smith. The “Girls Trip” star will additionally open up about her journey of motherhood, being the mother also to son Jaden Smith.
Pinkett Smith’s complex dynamic with late rap icon Tupac Shakur will also be a point of topic in the novel. During her rise to stardom, the “Matrix” actress and the “Keep Your Head Up” artist became increasingly close friends. Pinkett Smith and husband Will Smith have collectively spoken about her dynamic with Tupac, which was once a point of tension in their relationship as Will fought off urges of jealousy.
In recent years, the power couple has suffered numerous scandals, including Pinkett Smith’s problematic “entanglement” with R&B singer August Alsina. Most recently, Will’s slapping of Chris Rock over a Jada joke at the Oscars seemingly sent the two down a wayward path. However, reports have stated the situation seemingly only made the two stronger.
Reportedly, Carrie Thornton, the Dey Street Books VP and editorial director who brokered the book deal for Pinkett Smith, said in a statement:

Pinkett Smith’s novel follows the release of Will Smith’s hit memoir “Will,” released last November. Jada has not publicly commented on the book at this time.
