Last year, Chris and Elsa celebrated a relationship milestone: starring in their first movie together.
They played a married couple in war drama 12 Strong, and the Aussie actor joked that filming ‘was like a little holiday away from the kids’.
Appearing on US breakfast show Good Morning America in January this year, Chris said: ‘We left the kids with their grandparents, and went off for a few weeks and shot together.
‘We’ve been rehearsing that relationship and that on-screen chemistry for seven years so if we didn’t have chemistry, we would’ve been in trouble.’
12 Strong tells the story of the first Special Forces team that’s deployed to Afghanistan following the events of 9/11.
In the film, Chris plays the role of Captain Mitch Nelson, who has the task of leading his team of 12 soldiers to take down the Taliban.
Elsa plays the part of the captain’s dutiful wife, who looks after their daughter while he is at war.
