Marvel Cinematic Universe newcomer Aubrey Plaza shares a new video from the set of her MCU series, with an interesting Disney Easter egg present.
Aubrey Plaza posts an Agatha: Coven of Chaos set video that includes a Disney Easter egg. Agatha: Coven of Chaos is the WandaVision spinoff series focused on Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha Harkness, who served as the main villain to Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch in the original Disney+ show. Plaza has joined the Agatha: Coven of Chaos cast in a mysterious role, with some reports claiming that she will be playing Agatha: Coven of Chaos‘ villain.
On Instagram, Plaza shared a video from Agatha: Coven of Chaos‘ set, with a chair appearing to tease a possible new title to play a role in some form for the series. The Darkhold Diaries is a clear nod to Disney’s popular The Princess Diaries movies, down to the logo design. Check out the image below:
The Agatha: Coven of Chaos set video is unlikely to indicate a formal retitling of the series, as a previous Agatha: Coven of Chaos set photo also showed a new title — Agnes of Westview — in the style of a popular series, HBO’s Mare of Easttown.
What To Expect From Agatha: Coven Of Chaos
Agatha: Coven of Chaos appears to be continuing WandaVision‘s practice of including elements of other popular media in the series. That aspect was one of the factors that contributed to the original show’s success, with the search for Easter eggs — and more — helping keep WandaVision a constant topic of discussion week after week throughout its run. Agatha: Coven of Chaos could start right from where the original show left off. WandaVision ended with the Scarlet Witch trapping Agatha in Westview, with the Marvel villain believing she was her Agnes persona.
Agatha Harkness has to break free from Wanda’s spell in the spinoff, which gives the series a chance to revisit some characters from WandaVision. Confirmed to return alongside Hahn for Agatha: Coven of Chaos are Debra Jo Rupp as Mrs. Hart, Emma Caulfield Ford as Dottie, Kate Forbes as Evanora Harkness — Agatha’s mother — and more. Actress Patti LuPone also revealed that Agatha: Coven of Chaos‘ all-star cast is largely made up of actresses portraying witches from Agatha’s new coven, which includes her 450-year-old Sicilian witch Lilia Calderu and Plaza’s mysterious character.
Whenever Agatha breaks free from Wanda’s spell, she will likely seek revenge. While the Scarlet Witch is seemingly dead in the MCU, rumors about Agatha: Coven of Chaos claim that Joe Locke is playing an older version of one of Wanda’s sons, Wiccan. If the rumors turn out to be true, Agatha possibly convincing one of Wanda’s sons to join her would be a very good form of revenge. Another rumor claims the show will be delayed from Winter 2023 to 2025. While the rumors could turn out to be false, one thing is certain, Agatha: Coven of Chaos will open up the MCU’s magic corner in a big way.
