However, the decision not to mention Anna – who he was married to from 2009-2018 and who he shares son Jack, 10, with – led to a furious outpouring on social media, with fans branding the star ‘trash’ and ‘the worst.’
One fan wrote: ‘What about your first wife? she’s being super mom raising your first child’ while a second typed: ‘Trash’
More fans wrote: ‘ALSO HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO ANA.. THE ONE WHO MADE YOU A FATHER, THE ONE WHO HELPS RAISE YOUR FIRST CHILD SMH’ and ‘And the other mother?’
Another penned: ‘That was very nice recognition of the mothers in your life, wife, mom, mom in law, however it would not have killed you to acknowledge the mother of your first child by name, like really!’
One fan typed: ‘That’s not right , I’ve lost so much respect for you and the fact of NOT ACKNOWLEDGING your first child’s mom bc the fact that she’s doing more with constant doctor visits and has been there for your 1st child the least thing you could do is thank her as the mother of YOUR 1st child. It automatically shows the ignorance on your behalf=.’
Some fans came out in defense of the star, with many referencing that Anna had not posted a Father’s Day tribute to her ex either.
One fan wrote: ‘He literally said happy Mother’s Day to ALL of the mothers out there, that includes his ex, everyone calm down!
Another typed: ‘People acting like they praise their own exes! Let the man live! He literally said, “ALL moms” that includes his ex. Get over yourselves.’

One fan typed: Thank you for the loving, positive, respectful, and grateful post. It’s none of anyone’s business what he says, posts, thinks or feels about his ex or anyone. I know I don’t wish my ex a public post about anything.’
The post comes nearly a year after Pratt revealed that he cried when he was hit with backlash for publicly praising his wife Katherine for having a ‘healthy’ daughter after his son with Anna struggled with medical conditions following his premature birth.
The actor opened up about how hurt he was over the criticism he received over his social media activity.
His post was branded insensitive by some followers and others considered it a dig at his 45-year-old ex-wife. Chris revealed he was rattled by the response, saying: ‘That is f***ed up. My son’s gonna read that one day. He’s nine. And it’s etched in digital stone.
‘It really f***ing bothered me, dude. I cried about it. I was like, I hate that these blessings in my life are—to the people close to me—a real burden.’
Chris was at the center of controversy in November 2021 as he shared an early birthday tribute to his 32-year-old wife Katherine as he thanked her for giving him a ‘healthy’ daughter which seemed to deride his son Jack.
Users slammed his caption as ‘ableist’ (among other things) as Jack was born two months early weighing just three pounds, 12 ounces, and spent a month in the NICU and has cerebral hemorrhage (severe brain bleeding).
He went on to have a few hernia and eye surgeries, and also had ‘a little heart issue,’ according to Anna, and he still has problems with his vision and leg muscles.

Chris talked about the post which was at the center of controversy and the firestorm that ensued as he explained: ‘I said something like, “Find someone who looks at you the way my wife looks at me.” And then I gave her some s**t in the thing and said, “But I love you. I’m so thankful for my wife—she gave me a beautiful, healthy daughter.”
‘And then a bunch of articles came out and said, “That’s so cringeworthy. I can’t believe Chris Pratt would thank her for a healthy daughter when his first child was born premature. That’s such a dig at his ex-wife.”‘
Chris was married to Anna from 2009 to 2018 after meeting on the set of Take Me Home Tonight in 2007.
He later began a relationship with the daughter of Arnold Schwarzegger in June 2018.
They were quickly engaged in January 2019 and married months later in Montecito, California on June 8, 2019.
They welcomed daughter Lyla in August 2020 then daughter Eloise in May 2022.
