I saw Rihanna wearing a fuzzy coat, so I bought a fuzzy coat.
We can always count on Rihanna to serve the most unexpected looks. And in 2022 she has already been more experimental than ever before—she’s wearing vests as tops and going pantsless in January while making football jerseys look chic at the same time.
Most recently Rihanna pulled off a look that on anyone else would be described as “inspired by Philadelphia Flyers mascot Gritty.” On Wednesday, January 26, Rihanna stepped out on the streets of New York City to visit a shoe store in a bright orange fuzzy overcoat, a matching bright orange hoodie worn under it, and camo pants. This all sounds like a mess, but you’re going to have to trust that Rihanna totally pulled this off because she is Rihanna.
The bright orange fuzzy coat is slightly oversized and falls to Rihanna’s calves. The hoodie is the same color as the coat and clearly kept the billionaire cozy on a frigid night in the Northeast. Rihanna complemented the bright look with wide-leg camo pants and elevated the whole thing with the Balenciaga x Gucci Knife shoes, which have pointed-toe heels and a dramatic silver embellishment.
Rihanna wore understated makeup to let her signature bold red lip pop and kept her hair in a relaxed ponytail, with some face-framing pieces hanging.

The day before, on January 25, Rihanna announced that she will make a $15 million donation to climate and social justice groups through her Clara Lionel Foundation, which is named after the Barbados native’s grandparents. Per PBS News Hour, the Clara Lionel Foundation will donate to 18 climate justice organizations that are doing work in seven Caribbean nations as well as the United States. The organizations the foundation is donating to include the Climate Justice Alliance, the Indigenous Environmental Network, and the Movement for Black Lives.
“Climate disasters, which are growing in frequency and intensity, do not impact all communities equally, with communities of color and island nations facing the brunt of climate change,” Rihanna said in a statement.
