Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s defamation trial was one of the most publicized celebrity court cases and were one of the most widely talked about events to happen in 2022. The case brought about interesting debates with the many controversial topics that were brought about during its course. Heard accused Depp of physically abusing her, however, Depp’s side claimed that it was the other way around.

Johnny Depp Forced to Resign from Pirates of the Caribbean Franchise
Johnny Depp was publically humiliated and his integrity was questioned by all when he was hit with these allegations in 2018. The entire industry turned its back on the actor and was left to fend for himself. The actor was forced to resign from many projects he was involved in, including the Harry Potter spin-off series, Fantastic Beasts. The one that possibly hurt him and his fans the most was his most well-known role as Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean series.

Depp played the character for over 10 years and his personality is one of the most unique ones to be seen on the big screen. This is why it was surprising when Disney chose to side with Heard instead of Depp and asked Depp to resign from his role and not come back for another movie. How Does Johnny Depp Feel Towards Disney Now After Winning Defamation Trail?
Johnny Depp’s first movie release after the dramatics took place this week. he stars in a movie called Jeanne Du Barry, where he is seen playing a French-speaking King Louis XV. It is a French film directed by and starring Maïwenn. During the opening night premiere, Depp answered some of the questions asked by the reporters.

“Did I feel boycotted by Hollywood? You’d have to not have a pulse to feel like, ‘No. None of this is happening. It’s a weird joke,’” Depp told reporters. “When you’re asked to resign from a film you’re doing because of something that is merely a function of vowels and consonants floating in the air, yes, you feel boycotted.”
After being asked about his ‘comeback’, Depp went on to talk about how he has apparently had many comebacks according to the press when in fact he has not gone anywhere, people just stopped calling due to fear.
“I’ve had my 17th comeback, apparently. I keep wondering about the word ‘comeback.’ I didn’t go anywhere. As a matter of fact, I live about 45 minutes away. Maybe people stopped calling out of whatever their fear was at the time. But I didn’t go nowhere.”
Jeanne Du Barry premiered on 16th May 2023 during the Cannes Film Festival.
