The leopard was being pursued by a wild dog while pulling an impala.
The leopard carried the meal up from the riverbed into the open area you see in the video as the lone wild dog who is one of a pack consisting of 11 adults and 10 pups was barking.
The leopard was able to chase the wild dog off, but the wild dog called for the others. A pack of wild dogs arrived on the sᴄᴇɴᴇ just as the leopard was about to climb a tree to get its meal up to safety, away from the scavengers, and they sᴛᴀʀᴛʟᴇd the leopard into the tree, leaving the impala on the ground. The impala saw the opportunity and attempted to flee just before it was ᴀᴛᴛᴀᴄᴋed by the wild dogs once more.
The dogs got right to work devouring the food, and two of them managed to keep the leopard in the tree by leaping up and growling at it from below. Before two ravenous hyenas suddenly appeared and charged through the wild dogs to reach the food, everything went quiet for a bit as the wild dogs gorged on the well-earned supper of the leopards. Before a third hyena joined, one hyena was enjoying the impala by itself while the other kept the wild dogs at bay.
A fourth hyena attempted to join the meal but was driven away by the other three hyenas, so the wild dogs temporarily moved into the bush. Every now and then, the wild canines would come back to try to reclaim their meal, but as the minutes passed, the carcass gradually withered away.
Let’s see what happened in the video below:
