Game 4 between the Lakers and Nuggets got a little heated after an on-court altercation between LeBron James and Aaron Gordon.
After Gordon seemingly hit James in the face while defending him, James got really upset. The all-time leading scorer pushed Gordon toward the basket with his forearm as the pair seemed to be moments away from fighting before referees and players intervened.
This incident shockingly resulted in no player getting a technical foul, which is a huge change of form by the NBA officials. It’s good that players can have disagreements on the court that end up like this without getting T’d up, but there needs to be more consistent with how these calls end up being called.
An Entertaining Game 4
LeBron James and Aaron Gordon fighting isn’t the only notable thing to happen in the first half, as the Lakers jumped out to a massive 15-point lead at the break. The primary reason behind this was LeBron having an incredible 31-point half to keep the Lakers in the running while Anthony Davis and Austin Reaves struggle to contribute effectively to their scoring.
The Lakers are fighting for their season, as a loss here would mean they will be eliminated and the Nuggets go on to the NBA Finals. No matter how unlikely a 3-0 comeback is, every team in that situation hopes to be the one to overturn that deficit. The chances of it happening in this series are slim, but extending it to Game 5 would be the first step for LA if they hope to make history.
