This is the brutal moment a jaguar viciously ejected a caiman from the water with the animal in his jaws. The video, shot in Brazil’s northern Pantanal region, shows the predator King Juru grabbing the caiman while it is submerged.
The jaguar struggled to keep its grip as he sank his teeth into the reptile’s throat. The caiman was then dragged by the jaguar onto the bank of the river and driven into some bushes.
Abigail Martin, a wildlife researcher from New York who founded the Jaguar Identification Project, a non-profit organization developing a database on jaguars in the North Pantanal in 2013, shot the video in August of last year.
