These enormous creatures are gentle giants, and Jenny is one of them, despite the fact that they are thought to be dangerous and unpredictable creatures, especially when people are around.
Leo is a 24-year-old bear who lives at the Orphanage Wildlife Center, a rehabilitation center for orphaned bears in Otisville, New York, along with other rescued bears. Here, these giants receive love and comfort like never before, with a bedtime routine as belly rubs among their very favourites, especially for Leo. But with such dedicated caregivers, it could not have been otherwise.
This place is a true paradise for ab.ando.ned bears. Founded by Jim Kowalczik and his wife Susan, back in 1990, the center helped and rehabilitated dozens of bears. However, some of them are still here, because they won’t be able to reach in the wild. But Jim, Susan, and Kerry Clair, who also help run the orphanage, ensure the gentle giants get all the care and love.
The four permanent residents – two Kodiak bears and two Syrian brown bears – not only get belly rubs before bed, but sometimes, Jim even goes with them, just to make them feel more comfortable. People like Jim, Susan and Kerry – always ready to go above and beyond in search of these animals – are the heroes we all need in this world!
