Leonard was by no means the only individual with a solid background attempting to educate the public on the reality surrounding the Moon and the photographs captured during the Apollo missions.

He served as the Ballistic Missile Defense Organization’s and NASA’s joint project manager for the Clementine Moon Mission (BMDO). The mission discovered water close to the Moon’s poles in 1994.
